Advantages: Things can't get much worse

Disadvantages: No-one knows how to turn the situation around

It must be tough being a Dundee United fan at the moment. They have still to record a league win this season and are currently bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Furthermore after Saturday's 4-0 defeat at home to Hearts Chairman Jim McLean undertook what has been reported as a "serious assault" on BBC reporter John Barnes. He has resigned and is now looking to sell his 40% share of the club.

The club is short of money, and has even brought over players from Honduras to try and rectify the problems. Given that ex-manager Paul Sturrock spent most of money received from Rangers for Billy Dodds it really doesn't look very good at all.

Dundee United are in disarray. It is sad to see for such a proud club with such excellent supporters. They must be sick to see what is happening to their club, especially given what is taking place across the road with Dundee.

These are tough times for United, and there does not appear to be a way out of them just yet.
