The Britannia Stadium is the home ground of Stoke City Football Club. Having only been built in 1997 it is relatively new and holds 28,383 as an all seater stadium. An interesting fact about the stadium is Sir Stanley Matthews' ashes were buried under the centre circle of the pitch, when he died. When I went to the Britannia it produced one of my most memorable moments as a fan when Andy Carroll looped in a headed equaliser to get the first goal of the Shearer reign, when it seemed like nothing was going right at the club.
