In 1991, Barnet were promoted to the Football League. Their ground, Underhill had and still has a slope from goal to goal. However, the capacity was a more than reasonable 11,000. Now, it is just about half that and this is despite the club spending £2,000,000 on the ground. What has happened in the intervening 9 years is that the Football league and Football Licensing Authority (favourite friends of Chesterfield FC at the moment) have insisted on extremely strict criteria and have made Underhill a complete mess, not least being the decision to knock down the main home supporters terrace (the famour West Bank behind the bottom goal...at the south end!) in 1995 and ... So what's going down at underhill? Everything - it's something to do with gravity. Underhill, the home of the Bees is about a 5 minute walk away form Barnet tube station near a rather nasty set of traffic-lights. Barnet have been hoping to relocate their home stadium for a good few years now, however like many other clubs in lower divisions, thay lack the finances and means to be able do this. Underhill is a joke of a stadium and often the target of justified mockery to the point that people who support Barnet are reluctant to admit it in public.
