Advantages: Great stadium, big, historical

Disadvantages: None

Wembley stadium, the word itself means so much to football fans all around the world, which is something quite special for a stadium. It has witnessed some truly spectacular displays of genius down the years, most notably the 1966 world cup final in which England won. But now, after 76 long years of history, the FA want to demolish the famous twin towers. I personally don't think that it is such a hot idea to remove the twin towers, but I can understand why it would benefit England as the capacity will be increased from 80 000 to 90 000, which would be very good for England and their fans.

But still, taking down the twin towers is taking down history, as Wembley (or The Empire Stadium as it originally was called) was the centre piece of the British Empire Exhibition when it was originally created in 1924. I think that I would prefer it if the FA were to find a way leave Wembley the way that it is for the time being, at least until they win there one last time, as I went to see the disappointing match against the Germans, and I really don't think that it was a suitable good-bye to one of the, if not THE greatest stadium in the world.

And when they do decide how they are going to change the stadium, I hope that they decide not to add a running track around the pitch, as this would spoil the atmosphere as grounds with running tracks around them also have the fans, us, further away from the action, and would especially spoil it for those with seat right at the back, as it would be quite far away with a capacity of 90 000.

Despite the loss of the twin towers, I think that the 133 meter high arch will look even better. And also the sliding roof, like the impressive Amsterdam Arena, will also be a great asset to the stadium as it will prevent international games from being one awful wet mess, as they usually are in this country.
