Advantages: great modern stadium

Disadvantages: no parking, have to get the tube

We had to wait a lot longer than we should have done and paid a lot more than perhaps we should have done (£737,000,000), but now that it is here nobody can deny that Wembley is an amazing stadium. With an all seated capacity of 90,000, the stadium is one of the largest in the world and its modern design is quite spectacular. The main feature is the arch, which at 133 metres tall can be seen from all over London; but don't forget the retractable roof.

Once you're inside you realise just how big the stadium is, the seating just keeps going back until eventually it reaches the stadium roof. In design it isn't too dissimilar to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. It is fully enclosed with three tiers of seating; the sides are slightly higher than the stands behind both goals, although I think this is to allow the roof to slide over.

In terms of atmosphere at the new Wembley it seems to be quite good, with supporters really getting behind the team in the recent world cup qualifying campaign. One disappointing feature though is that the seats in the first tier right by the halfway line are given to sponsors and they often take ages to come back in after the halftime interval, this looks really bad because the stadium is full apart from three blocks. As Roy Keane once famously said they're part of the Prawn Sandwich Brigade!

One thing to note about the stadium is that there is very little parking available. They rely on people making use of public transport and the preferred route by most fans seems to be getting the tube to Wembley Park and then walking the ten minutes to the stadium. You can reach Wembley Park by both the Jubilee and Metropolitan tube lines.

Summary: a fantastic stadium, just a shame it was a bit late

I've also not visited the new one, went to the old one about 2 years before the demolition

I've yet to visit the new stadium but have been to the old. It sounds good although it's a shame the parking hasn't improved. Last time I went it took 90mins to get out of the carpark. Good review

what a bargain, i remember when they were offering to give away the original towers for a £1 , if anyone could stump up the millions to remove them first!
