York Hall leisure centre is based in Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, London E2 (020) 8980 2243. The centre boasts a gym and Turkish bath as well as a large swimming pool. The pool opens at 7.15am Monday – Friday and is open most nights until about 9pm. (It’s worth ringing to check though, because it is closed to the public several nights a week.)
