Skechers Lil D Riget Ladies
by theredrobin I bought these trainers a good few years back now, think it was 4 or 5 years ago! I was looking for trainers I could go running in and play sports in and decided to go to the Skechers store. It was the first time I had considered trainers by Sketchers and looking into them. I remember having a look at the store and ... being drawn to these. I thought they stood out over the other trainers on sale due to the grey and pink combination. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for these trainers but think they were along the £30-£40 range. At the time I thought they were quite expensive and wasn't sure if I should get them or look for something cheaper instead but I went along and purchased them anyway. The trainers were quite bulky to look at and quite big, they were perfect for sports and daily wear. When I wore them I used to think they were really comfortable. Even though they seemed quite bulky.. they were really light to wear and fitted me perfectly. The trainers were quite easy to clean with a damp cloth, and due to the grey colour they were not as noticeably dirty as a white pair of trainers would have gotten. But.. (and it's a big but) here comes a major flaw that made me not got back and purchase another pair of sketchers since... One day I was wearing the trainers just for a casual walk outside in the park when the back of my foot suddenly started really hurting. I had to sit down and take my trainer off when I found that the back of the trainer had a metal bit which had poked through the material of the trainer and into the back of my foot! It was really painful and as it was in such an awkward position, I was having problems with it for a few days as every step I took was hurting! As soon as I got home I chucked the Sketchers trainers right into the bin! Now I had worn the trainers quite a bit but I only owned them for about 8 months.. it was less than a year and I don't know why I didn't think of contacting Sketchers about it as I did think the metal bit coming lose like that was a safety issue also as the metal bit was quite large it did cause quite a big cut! So although they were nice trainers and I did like wearing them whilst they lasted.. the negative experience I had with it put me off buying any trainers by Sketchers and I haven't been back into their store since! Although i'm sure not all their trainers would lead to the same experience, it was enough to put me off. I didn't even know they had metal at the inside of the trainers! :S For the purpose of this review I did try searching for these trainers online but could not find them on sale anywhere. (I guess that's a good thing :P) I'm not quite sure how to rate the product.. although they were good and comfortable to use whilst they lasted.. for the price I paid for them and the fact that I didn't even manage a year with them... I can't recommend them and only give them 2 stars. It may have put me off their trainers, but I may look into their boots one day as i've heard good things about them - hopefully they won't cause the same problem! Thanks for reading :) (review may also be on ciao) Read the complete review |

Nike Air Zoom
by MEL0611 I mentioned in my last review that I have a rather large collection of shoes. Whilst the majority of my shoes are very girly and have heels or they are flats with bows on, I do enjoy running and my rather old pair of Matalan trainers were sadly not up to the standard that I needed for running a great distance. I took advice from my local ... Sports store on what trainers that I needed and this has resulted in me purchasing a pair of the Women's Nike Air Zoom Running shoes. I used to run about 3 years ago and really enjoyed it and then my running partner gave it up so I stopped but I now enjoy running with my Fiancé and so I needed some running shoes and here are my thoughts on them. When buying a trainer with a brand name attached you know that you are going to be paying a certain price. The running trainers cost me £55 which I don't thing was a ridiculous amount of money to pay. I justified the cost as I know I will get the use out of them, running a couple of times a week over the months will soon see me getting my wear out of them. I brought the trainers from the JJB sports store and this was about 4 months ago now. I am guessing you can get them in any of the larger sports store as well as online from the Nike website directly. The trainers are actually quite plain to look at. They are mainly white in colour and then the traditional Nike tick that features on many of their products is in a shade of blue. There is also a blue stripe that runs across the back of the trainer as well. There are white laces that fasten the trainer and the soles of the trainer are mainly black in colour but also feature some white patterning as well. I take a size 8 in trainers and these were very comfy in my size and my feet felt instantly comfortable in them. I have struggled with wearing running shoes before now and so made sure I broke these shoes in gently, I only went on a short run when wearing them in the first instance and just built my time up with them on my feet. The bottoms of the running shoe are very good, they have excellent grip when running along the roads and they are definitely well cushioned to take any impact from the roads and pavements. The shoes lace up well to allow the trainer to feel comfortable but yet supportive on your foot. I found that there was no rubbing to any section of my feet in these; I think breaking them in evenly was the great thing to do. Nike says that the trainers are 'perfect for running and they beat the heat with their make-up'. That basically means that they will not allow your feet to get all warm and sweaty due to how they have been designed. I would have no trouble in recommending these shoes, well designed and comfy for running. I think they are well worth the price. I think if you were to buy them then you would be impressed, just be aware of the price tag as if you don't wear them enough, they will become an expensive purchase. 4 out of 5 from me Thank you for reading Read the complete review |

Nike Junior Remix Golf Shoe
by newby2 ==Nike Junior Remix Golf Shoe== Ever since my little man has been interested in golf it has cost us a fair bit of money to kit him out in all the necessary items needed for him to go and have a game with his daddy. I have tried to source the cheapest items I can and have bought a few items second hand but often when it comes ... to certain things, such as shoes, you can't scrimp on the price as I feel sporting footwear is important and you do get what you pay for. ==Price and where from?== These Nike Junior Remix Golf shoes were for sale on Amazon and luckily I had a few Amazon vouchers saved up in my account which meant I didn't have to pay out of my own "proper" money for them. The price they were up for was £29.99 pence and there was some money off of the RRP at the time I purchased them. This price is not a bad one as it seems that most junior golf shoes of what ever brand are around the same price so I didn't feel as though I was paying over the odds and of course I was getting a good brand name with buying a Nike product. The shoes came and were a perfect fit for Jack and he was happy that they were both comfortable and ideal for playing up the club with his daddy. He not only wears them to play on the actual course but he will wear them when they go to the driving range as well so that he gets used to the feel and breaks them in too. =The Shoes== The good thing about these golf shoes is that they don't look too "golfy" like some other shoes I was looking at do. They have a very trainer type look about them whilst still being smart enough to go up the course and not be looked down upon by some of the snooty members of the club. The shoes are laces as you would imagine and as we are still teaching Jack to tie his laces correctly he will often need a hand with tying them up but does always try to give it a go and will sometimes master this technique on his own accord. The laces themselves are strong and sturdy and I can't see them breaking any time soon. They have of course been getting rather grubby of late what with all the mud on the course so I have taken them off and popped them in the washing machine with a white wash and this has brought them up nice and new looking. The shoes are made from a water resistant synthetic leather which means that unless you step in a rather deep puddle or try to retrieve your lost ball from the lake, in theory your feet should stay dry and fresh even when the grass and course is muddy and wet. This has seemed to have been the case each time Jack and his daddy go out and they both come home with dry socks and feet. Of course the bottoms of their trouser generally get a bit wet unless they have been wearing their waterproof trousers but this will only happen when they go out in the rain (my other half is trying to teach Jack not to be a fair weather golfer - either that or make him catch pneumonia again!). The trainers are made from a mostly white colouring which means that the mud likes to stick to them and they will often need a clean. The material that they are made from does mean that cleaning them isn't too difficult and I am trying to get Jack to master this task himself along with his football boots and he seems to be getting the hang of using the brush to bring them up nice and takes pride in keeping them looking good. The thing that appealed to Jack most with these trainers is the fact that you can change the look of them somewhat by using the colourful discs that come with the shoes and insert them inside the mesh design to show through on the Nike tick on the outside. This means that you can have a different coloured tick each time you wear them and it makes it seem like you have a ton of different shoes! Its these simple things that kids love I guess. It is a nice feature although more of a bonus one rather than making them any more comfortable or better for the game. The most important aspect of the golf shoes, even more so than the water proof part of them is that they have the 7 disc shaped spike in the bottom of the shoe. These grey grippers so to speak make sure that they give the wearer the up most comfort and grip on different kinds of terrain so that when you are swinging your club your feet won't slide around and it gives you a good sturdy fix on the ground. Therefore Jack can't blame his poor shot on the slippage of his foot position! ==Overall Opinion== Jack has been wearing these shoes for a good few months now and although they have the usual wear and tear that you would expect from any kind of sport shoe they are still in a pretty good condition. He states that they are comfortable to wear and the inner sole cushion that these golf shoes have would support that fact. With looking after I should expect that these shoes will last him a good while and he will grow out of them whilst they are still looking okay and we may be able to sell them on to put the money made towards his next pair. I think that Nike have made a fabulous little pair of shoes for the young golfer here and I would highly recommend them. I am glad I didn't opt for a cheaper brand as I really do think these shoes offer good value for money in the way that they are made and the comfort and grip that they provide. Jack is most impressed with the way the coloured tick can be changed and with the fact that he looks "just like daddy". This does help him to be more keen on the game and the keener he is the better he is seeming to play and become a little super star in my eyes! Rory Macilroy better watch out! A top score of 5 out of 5 stars and a super high recommendation is what I am more than happy to award these great little shoes! I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you Many thanks for taking the time to read. Read the complete review |
