Adidas Tour Traxion Golf Shoe
by scooke
If you are thinking of taking up golf and have not purchased a pair of golfing shoes yet, then I strongly recommend the Adias Tour Traxion Golf Shoe. Why do I need golf shoes I hear you say!?!? Well in golf you ten to do a lot of walking (unless you rent a golf buggy) and that'll ruin your normal shoes. Also, if you are playing in the ... rain a good pair of golf shoes will prevent you from getting wet feet. I remember the first time I played without a normal set of golf shoes. By the end of the round I had really messed up my work shoes.
Anyway, back to this Adias brand. I am a young lady who is lucky enough to only have size four feet. As such this means I able to buy child size shoes. For this band of golf shoe I was able to buy a pair for just £45.99, when an adult size would retail for over £70. The colour is mainly white, with black stripes runnng down it, though other colours are available. Pick whatever colour you like though, it does effect the quality.
As with all shoes, these golf shoes definitely require a level of breaking in. I would recommend two things. One, make sure you wear some thick socks the first four or five times you wear them on the course. Two, consider only doing a few nine hole rounds first. I say this because the first time I went out wearing them was on an 18 hole course and by about hole 13 I had a big blister on one of my toes. It got so bad that I found it almost impossible to continue. Not ideal I know, but this was the only occassion this happened.
In the main, wearing these golf shoes is very comfortable. They are made of synthetic leather which provider comfort and excellent durability. This durability has been tested thoughout the autume and winter months, where I have played in rain and even sleet. In fact on one occassion the rain was so strong, yet no water managed to get into my shoes. A real relief and aded peace of mind! There is also a die-cut EVA insole for lightweight comfort, which provides you with excellent padding.
As for the grip on the bottom of shoe, there is a durable adiWEAR rubber outsole with Z Traxion. This enables you to keep your feet firmly planted to the ground, while swinging. The metal studs are also excellent for grip, in all weather conditions.
Overall I am very happy with these golf shoes, though they are a little prblematic when wearing in. I don't think I'd pay the plus side of £70 for them, but £45.99 is quite reasonable.

Adidas Tour Traxion Golf Shoe
by jj1977
The past twenty years have seen something of a revolution in golf. The fuddy duddy image of the old man clad in Pringle has been wiped away by a young generation of golfers who dress like they play. They intern have inspired a younger generation to watch and participate in the sport. It is because of this that sportswear manufactures ... like Nike and Adidas have made major investments in trying to corner a share of the golfing market. Adidas sponsors stars such as Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose, producing equipment that looks good and peforms at the highest level. It was with this in mind I opted for the Adidas Tour Traxion when purchasing my last pair of golf shoes.
The shoe is made from a leather upper combined with a lightweight EVA midsole withe the adiPrene cushioning and finished with the durable adiWear rubber outsole with Z traxion. They come with a 1 year gaurantee that they will remain waterproof. The z traxion combines the adidas spikes with rubber grooves for greater grip.
Colours vary but the basecolour comes in one of two options, be that white or black. The shoes are fastened in a traditional lace up manner. Spikes are easily replaceable.
So how do they hold up. As a golfer I certainly cannot be classed in the graceful manner of a Monty. Mine is a much more violent action. This means that I requires the lower portion of my body to be as stable as is possible, and this shoe certainly achieves that. They are strong and well made offering support to my feet and ankles. The cushioned adiprene relieving a great deal of the stress.
The waterproof function is as good as their word and cleaning them is an easy task, completed with the use of a damp cloth and small tooth brush. I could ask no more from them. Some would argue they are for the younger generation, most older golfers opting for the more traditional style of Footjoys. Perhaps they are right, and if style is your guiding principle, it maybe worth considering. However if you require a shoe that ensures stability and comfort, go for these. Read the complete review |
