Around six weeks ago I decided that I needed to do something about the fact that my weight had risen significantly over a period of a couple of years. I started eating better and in six weeks I have lost sixteen pounds but I have to say this isn't just down to a more sensible approach to eating as I have been exercising more too. I needed a sports shoe which would suit my needs, specifically something which would offer support for my quite weak knee. I purchased the adidas furano 3 ladies running shoe.
I was advised by my physiotherapist last year that if I were to be working out I would need a show which would be supportive for my ankle and therefore more supportive for my knee as well. I am not actually allowed to run as a means of exercise as apparently the impact would be too much on my knee but despite this fact I was told a running shoe would provide me with the most support. I purchased the adidas furano 3 running shoe from the sports direct website where they cost a reasonable £27.99. The shoes come in sizes 4 to 8 with there being half sizes in a 5 and 6 but no other strangely!
I will admit that being a girl the way that the shoe looked was an influencing factor in my purchase. The shoe does look nice though in my opinion. It is made from a textile/synthetic upper, textile inner and synthetic sole. They are predominantly white but feature a grey band around the top of the shoe and on the tongue as well as three cerise stripes which is obviously easily noticeable as the adidas brand logo. They do also come in black with the pink stripes if this would be more suited to your tastes.
The shoe is comfortable to wear which of course is the most important factor when it comes to something like this. My usual size 4 fits me perfectly so sizing seems to be quite accurate. When I tie the laces in the show I can feel my foot is well supported and I feel confident I can work out without having too much impact on my wonky knee! The ankle of the show is quite padded and pretty rigid so does make me feel reassured and the sole of the shoe is also very thick and shock absorbing which again gives me reassurance that I can work out and get fit without worrying too much about taking steps backwards with my knee. I can almost feel the shoe soaking up the pressure as I do the cross trainer in particular which of course is a positive thing.
The upper part of the show is a ventilated mesh material which I really like as I feel that my feet can breathe as I work out and thankfully the shoes don't smell despite six weeks of use! Not only do I wear these shoes when I go to the gym but I also wear them if I am heading out for a long walk as they do offer more support than any other shoe that I own.
I do think these running shoes are a great option for someone looking for a supportive shoe for working out or running. I do tend to only wear them when I know I am going to be exercising as I am not really the kind of girl who wears trainers all day as they don't go with the other clothes that I wear but for their designed purpose these shoes work really well and are ideal for me.
