I like Adidas as a brand but they are not my favourite for training shoes. I find them quite flat without much bounce so they are not very good for running in but fine for going to the gym and doing weights or rowing. If you like using the treadmill I would choose a specific running shoe. These seem to be more for fashion rather than training purposes. The LA trainer design is one of the original designs and comes in a variety of colours and textures. The ones I have are suede and canvas and quite stylish as far as trainers go.
==Price and availability==
These trainers vary in price and will cost anything from £25.00 to £49.00. The more expensive ones are the latest designs and feature real leather, the cheaper end of the market are made from a synthetic material. I paid £31.00 for my suede pair.
The trainers have a soft grey textured suede that covers the heel and down the sides and around the toe. I like suede on trainers although it needs some extra care. I have a bottle of suede care in my house as I have had a couple of suede trainers such as the Adidas Sambas. Above the toe on the front of the shoe is a mesh covering which is grey with long grey laces. There is a tongue that protects the laces from rubbing against your feet. At the back is a quite large heel that was a bit stiff when I first got them. The trainers have the standard three stripes but these are in yellow which is a nice contrast against the grey and written across one of them is 'L.A trainer.' The sole is stiff without much flexibility and the whole trainer is quite flat, it does not support my arches so definitely not one for impact training such as running. The tread on the trainer is stylish with hundreds of little dots but I doubt it will actually be able to grip anything substantial. It is fine for everyday use though; just not on icy pavements I guess.
I love the look of these and fell in love with them when I saw them; they go really well with jeans as they look smart and slim so make a good fashion pair of trainers. I wear them mostly for classes at the gym, body conditioning and Pilates for example. They go really well with most gym outfits and unlike my other trainers that are loud and bright, these are really subtle and attractive. I just would never choose to go running in them; they would give me serious knee trouble.
As far as wear and tear goes, the suede is keeping nice and fresh looking although I hardly ever wear these out door. I may use them to go to the shops in if I don't feel like dressing smart but I mainly use them inside the gym where they are not exposed to any elements. I have had them for quite a while now and the shoes look relatively brand new. I occasionally give them a once open with the suede protection. This is a tube with a plastic bristled nozzle at the end that dispenses a clear liquid that needs massaging into the fabric; an easy enough job indeed. These trainers will last me an awful long time as I will look after them. I have had quite a few Adidas trainers in the past and find them to be really long lasting if you wear them as a fashion shoe. If you are wanting a training shoe then you are probably looking in the wrong place.
I love trainers and I am quite fussy about the brands that I wear. I will often be found in Nike, Adidas or Reebok but I do also own some more expensive ones such as French Connection UK ones. I have quite wide feet and because of this I can have problems with some trainers, also size is often an issue with me with 7's being too small on occasion and 8's being too big. This is where Footlocker have become a godsend to me! In the last couple of years I have been shopping online at www.footlocker.eu and visiting Footlocker stores more and more because they often stock half sizes and the website allows me to look at different styles I like in size 7.5 before I visit a store and check which ones they have in stock. In this particular case I tried in store and then ordered online because of a special code I had.
These LA trainers are actually known as the 'Adidas LA Trainer sleek' online and I found them about a year ago when Footlocker had a discount voucher code running with 30% of ALL items for 4 days. This came at a fantastic time for me as I had just recently celebrated my birthday and been treated to quite a lot of money, as is often the case with my birthday (maybe I'm too fussy for gifts?). Anyway, I purchased a couple of pairs of trainers for myself and purchased a tiny baby pair for me friends son who had not even been born at the time. I paid around £42.00 for these trainers but they can now be purchased for £59.99 from Footlocker stores or the Footlocker.eu website. They come in sizes 3.5-8.5 with all sizes available when I've locked.
The LA trainers that I purchased are black, they have a black sole with raised rubber bumps and there is the classic Adidas three stripes on the sides. These are a light pink colour with the standard serrated edge look that I have come to know and love from Adidas over the years. There is white where the trainer joins the sole. There is a pink Adidas logo on the top back of the trainers as well as the same pink detailing on the tongue of the shoes. On the bottom near the back of each shoe on the side there are three pink button like bits of plastic with the Adidas logo on them. I love this little touch and even when my jeans are long and they are covering my shoe I like to know that the brand is flashed around a little as I do not often wear cheap unbranded trainers.
These trainers are incredibly comfortable. The half size is a real bonus for me as it means that my toes are not squished at the end like they are in some trainers. In the past this has led to me suffering toenail growth problems so I try to be very careful. When I visited the store I tried on the 7 and then the 7.5 and I could definitely tell a difference comfort wise. My toes fit comfortably in this shoe and there is no squishing at all.
I have had these trainers for around a year now. During that time I have probably worn them at least 20 times, if not more. I find these look best with my favourite black skinny jeans and a pink t-shirt that I love to wear. I'm not sure why but in the past few years I have found myself being drawn to pink trainers more and more. These are mainly black of course but the splashes of pink throughout this trainer really do bring them to life.
I have to say that these have been worn a few times and have worn incredibly well. Obviously over time the sole has become worn but most of the black rubber bobble style pieces on the sole have stayed in place well and these definitely help me to feel smooth and sharp when walking down the road.
I appreciate that the price tag on these at full price may seem steep to some but these are incredibly comfortable trainers and if you need a half size then I would firmly recommend these.
