So when you go on holiday I dont know what you look for in a shoe but I always need a cheap flip flop that will keep me going for a week on the boiling beach and to stop my feet from being burnt tona crisp. Often these beaches abroad make me feel im running the hot coals (weak British constitiution being a hater of anything above 15 degrees really).
Coca Cola flip flops?! It does seem a little odd as we know this brand forna range of drinks within our consumer range from the late 1800s. Nowadays we cannot enter any kind of shop without seeing Fanta, Sprite or flavoured Coca Colas, they even have branded waters under their wings!
So im guessing the flip flops are a gimmick of advertising! Similar to handing out pens or hanging posters; I dont really know as I bought these from Ebay so they came without any background story for £8 which included the cost of p&p.
So the flip flop itself was boughr in a size 6 and does fit well; I have odd sized feet as I range from 6 - 7 depending on the style and brand so maybe these come up big? Or maybe my feet are a six and they are the right size?! I dont really know if im honest.
It is a thong style flip flop pretty much like the types you see in Primark, sports shops and supermarkets. The sole I often like yo a mix between rubber and polystyrene, it always seems such an odd material. The sole is a little stiff but does not seem very hard wearing. The part that your feet rest on is red with the coca cola logo and the trademark swirls we see in the media and on labels. This area under uour feet is flat and not supportive of heel arches but this is to be expected, however, it does seem to sink to mould around the feet which can be more comfortable but then not as your feet begin to reach the pavement and feel the equivalent of being bare!
The strap is white and a hard plastic which is in the thong style and has a red coca cola logo to one side. The thong style means that the straps go over the feet and then join at a triangle point to join the sole at a point between the big and second toe. I dont favour this style of slip slop as after a long amount of time I feel that my toes are being broken and the skin gets very sore and red. Not pleasant! Yet I buythem as they are fine to wear on the beach etc and I dont mind them getting ruined really.
So all in all these flip flops are probably not the most popular as they have coca cola written all over them but I really dont care what people think. They are fit for purpose and do the holiday job without too much fuss, they are light and flat making them easy to throw in your bag.
