      I hope they last forever!

I bought these shoes to train for my first 10K a couple of years ago, I still run in them a coupe of times a week and they're still going strong! I must confess to not being an expert on running shoes as these were my first ever pair, so this review is from a beginner's point of view.

I bought these in the sale at Up and Running for about £30 but would have been happy to pay a bit more as I've been very happy with them.

The shoe is well padded and provides good support when running. I have never suffered from blisters, shin splints, knee pain or any of the other problems associated with running while wearing these shoes. They are so comfortable you aren't aware of them at all while running which is pretty much exactly what you want! There are no annoying seams or 'sticky out' bits and the tongue stays in place so there are no niggles to distract and irritate you on a run.

The laces are great as they are 'notched' so they are more secure, they are a little bit long however and I find I have to tie a double bow in order that I don't have lace trailing over the side of my shoe and onto the road.

The shoes have coped well with wet weather, they've got quite waterlogged a few times and haven't lost their shape or support. I've just stuffed a bit of cardboard into the toes and let them dry naturally and they've dried quickly and fine.

I'm perfectly happy with appearance of the shoe, its not overly fussy or flash like some other brands and is quite classic and understated. I don't feel like I'm drawing too much attention to my feet when I'm wearing them and I've happily worn them with jeans or work trousers if I've needed to walk a long distance and I haven't felt self conscious.

One last thing about New Balance, they produce all their shoes in the UK or US so you can rest assured that they haven't been made in a sweat shop.
