      Very helpful

One to avoid in my case!

I absoloutely love my breakfast of a morning and love a couple of bits of toast with either a high quality strawberry jam on it or some rich thick cut orange marmalade. However one day browsing around Asda I spotted this and it being Hartleys I thought I'd give it a go for a change.

      The Packaging:

The jam comes in a glass see-through jar with a silver twist on/off lid to the top of it. On the front of the jar we are told that it is Hartleys Best Blueberry Jam and then on the back of it ingredients and a nutritional chart are show as well as the weight of it (which incidentally is 340g) and contact details Chivers Hartley are given. Informative enough jar this is, easy enough to open and close and should be stored in a refridgerator for up to 6 months according to the information given on the back of the jar.

      The Jam Itself:

A dark purple colour and when you first dig into the jar the only problem with this really is that although I kept mine stored in the fridge it melted so badly and it was a case of of pouring the jam on to toast or bread which wasn't really a nice way of using jam and a wee but offputting!

Very, very sweet this has lots of small dark purple blueberries within in and not to many seeds though a few that do always get stuck in my teeth lol. For me this jam was fruity enough however the sweetness however natural was far too much and in my humble opinion actually didn't add to the taste of the fruit cos all I could taste was sugar.

Easy to spread for obvious reasons this jam is not one of my favourites obviously. I'm a strawberry or raspberry jam gal and certainly don't want a gooey, horrible mess on my toast/bread that is so sweet it makes me hyper active first thing lol

      Nutritional Information Per 100g:

      EnergY; 245Kcal
      Protein; 0.2g
      Carbohydrate: 60.7g
      Fat: 0.1g

Available in all good supermarkets etc priced at about 89p a jar
