      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Absolutely delightful to me!

Meridian Morello Cherry Fruit Spread is an alternative to jam. It doesn't contain sugar in the form of glucose, but through containing fruit still contains fructose. However, in my mind it's still healthier, though probably doesn't have any benefits for your teeth. The product uses mostly organic products (97%), excluding the pectin and acidity regulator. The product could be used in place of jam when baking or cooking, or my favourite as spread on toast!

      Texture
The Morello Cherry spread is quite thick and jam like compared to other Meridian spreads, but is still runnier than jam. It has chunks in it of cherry. It spreads very easily and doesn't drip off the knife.

      Taste
The taste of this spread is very cherry flavoured. It has a strong tang to it as well as staying sweet. For me, this is my idea of heaven, and my mum says it tastes nice to her too, but my husband finds it too sweet. I would say the right amount to spread on bread is a "smear", rather than spreading it thickly.

This product is quite niche, and mainly available in health stores. I bought mine from the Wild Carrot in Buxton for £1.89. It is also available for £1.99 from goodnessdirect.co.uk It is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and free from gluten, dairy and wheat, but I think that is standard for jams anyway.
