Advantages: nice taste, quite healthy, good price

Disadvantages: none

I recently ditched my unhealthy snacks and decided to go back to Ryvita and some kind of topping. I stumbled across the 'philly' section in my supermarket and was quite surprised at the huge choice of flavours they had. If you have never tried it, it is a medium fat soft cheese, you can buy it plain or in this case, with other flavours. I am a huge black pepper fan so when I came across Spring Onion & Black pepper Light Philadelphia on offer for £1 for a 200g tub I couldn't resist buying it.

Philly now comes in a stay fresh pack to help keep the product fresh and usable for longer. The pack looks the same with the logo taking up half of the lid and the bottom having a picture of spring onions and black pepper corns along with the nutritional value.

Each 30g serving contains 44 calories, 1.3g sugar, 3.2g fat, 2.1g saturates and 0.5g salt. Not too bad. I thought it would go well with Ryvita as it spreads really easily, so wouldn't break or snap the Ryvita and the flavour would add an interesting and tasty kick. Its suitable for vegetarians which is perfect for me too.

Overall I thought the product, at 31 was great value. It sometimes sells for up to £1.50 which is a fair price. The product spread really easily and tastes great on things like Ryvita or Toast or can be used in a main meal as you can get recipes from Philadelphia's website.

I really liked this flavour. The black pepper gives a strong kick and you get the subtle undertones of spring onion to give a nice contrast. The combination works really well. It is a great healthy option snack.

Summary: Goes great on Ryvita, toast or as an ingredient in a main meal
