      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A good value buy!

I love Pate. I love it on toast and on bread and stuff like that and purchase it regularly. However because I consume it regularly it costs me alot out of my shopping budget to keep up with my demand! So when I saw this priced at 42p a tube I couldn't resist trying it and whats more I hadn't seen a pate in 'tube' form before!

      The Packaging:

Well like I just said this is a tube and that tube is like a small sausage in a gold plastic wrapper that ties to both ends. Around the middle of it there is white and orange label and I'm told on the front of that, that it is indeed Sainsbury's Basics Liver Pate and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. Other information on the tube tells me ingredients used, allergy advise is given and storage instructions and contact details for Sainsbury's are listed. It's a nice enough easy to store tube though you can of course tell it's a cheap product with it's bright orange and white writing on it lol.

      The Pate Itself:

What is nice about this tube is that you can use it in a couple of ways and I actually found that out by mistake when I was about to cut it open to get the pate out and I accidentally nicked one of the ends open. I squeezed the tube for some reason and the pate squirted out (you can't do this straight from the fridge by the way), and it meant it was really simple to squirt onto my crackers. I was well pleased learning this and the pate was moist rather than like liquid lol.

However of course you can just open the wrapper and slice the pate or whatever as well, it's up to you!

So the pate itself is a rich pinky colour. It's moist (not wet as I just pointed out) and has a rich liver smell to it. It's not one bit fatty and has a lovely taste of liver, though not overpoweringly so mixed and it's blended gently with spices and has a light taste of onion and a little bitterness to it. It's as I pointed out already very smooth, very well blended, delicately seasoned and really just all round nice! It keeps stored in the fridge for about 3 days as well! This is rather nice and offers great value for money in my opinion!

      Allergy Advice:
      Contains: Wheat gluten.
