      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Nice enough store cupboard essential!

Sometimes I have little time in my life to eat. I'm on the go constantly and then remember to eat and barely have very much in. For this reason and this reason alone I occasionally buy potted meat and fish pastes for a quick sandwich and Shippam's do small jars of paste and at about 75p a jar this brand offers quality at an affordable price.

      The Packaging:

75ml glass jar that has a twist on brown on/off lid to the top of it. On the front of the label I'm told that it is Chichester England, Estd 1750, Shippam's Salmon Spread. On the back of the jar other information listed includes ingredients and nutritional information being stated as well as the size being given and contact details for Shippam's are listed. It's a nice enough simple jar that really is informative enough and easy enough to open and close etc.

      The Paste:

Open the jar and the aroma of salmon hits your nose big time. It's a smooth slightly moist paste that it is easy to spread and a light pink in colour. It's tasty and fresh tasting and slightly seasoned and tastes rather tangy. It has a lot of flavouring within it and even though you can spread it as it's so smooth and put it between a couple of slices of thick bread that flavouring isn't one bit lost.

If you like fish and you like a paste that is easy to spread and that you don't need to use much of this is great. Of course you don't have to just use it in sarnies and I'm sure you could find other uses for it but it's great in my opinion with cress and/or cucumber in said sarnie!

      Nutritional Information Per 100g:

      Calories: 185 kcal
      Fat: 12.1g

Available in all supermarkets priced at about 75p a jar.
