St Dalfour "Rhapsodie de Fruit" is yummylicoius. It is a great alternative to marmalade and the bonus being "no added sugar".
A lot of no added sugar products are awful due to the fact they have been filled with sugar subsitutes like aspartame. Which may or maynot be good for you. St Dalfour contains natural occuring sugars.
The product is not a marmalade or a jam so has been labelled Orange spread... but to be honost if you put spoonful on bread with a spoon of jam/marmalade on another you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
The spread comes in a tall jar with a navy blue and white label with some oragnes on the front. Product is from France.
Jar is stylish and quite typically french. Add some coffee and crossiants and you could be next to the eiffel tower....
The lid is sealed with a plastic tamperproof plastic with a metal lid. Easy enough to open. Once product is opened it is refridgerated and must be used within 4 months. Which is very easy to achieive as it is lovely.
The orange spread is thick and does contain bit of orange peel, it isn't bitter or crunchy. It is lumpy which would put children off.. You could try an seperate them if you had to. Spreads very easily on toast or bread.
No preservatives no flavourings no colours. Only Natural Ingredients, only natural occuring sugars.
Oranges 50%, Unsweetened Grape Juice Concentrate, Lemon Juice, Gelling Agent Fruit Pectin
This is a definate product to add to you cupboard and recommend for anyone who is counting calouries or Weight Watchers etc.
St Dalfours do a range of other product which are just as delicious, although they are quite expensive but a defiante treat to yourself...
Thanks for reading my review and hope you do try this as you won't be disappointed..xx
This is my favourite marmalade/ jam spread by a million miles. I've told you this a billion times and I'm not exaggerating!
The best thing about it, is the 'no added sugar' but it still has a great taste.
We tend to only have only brown bread in our house, so I usually have to smuggle the lovely crusty white loaf in, and then have to find a good hiding place. If I'm caught by The Woman, it usually means I'm grounded for one night for being sneaky. Lately I've been leaving the white stuff in the car. Sometimes when I'm grounded, she'll let me sit in the car but she'll take the keys......HELP!! Noone can hear me. Pointless! This stuff is fantastic on crusty bread or toast. It's the proverbial Dogs Gonads!
The ingredients are 50% oranges, unsweetened grape juice concentrate, lemon juice, gelling agent fruit pectin. They are available in 284g jar and a little diddy baby jar... ahhhh 28g
The other flavours available are: Raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and orange and ginger. All very nice but orange still wins for me. A 284g jar like above in Asda costs about £1.40. It's not cheap I know. If you can get it on finance, all the better!
Anyway look at me, It's 9.50pm and I still haven't got my pyjamas on, so she's not that strict on me. If I'm really good, soon I can have my own front door key. It's all about trust. Yeah pretty normal married couple really!
Anyway give this St Dalfour Thick Cut Orange Spread a whirl. All the flavours are an old French recipe of the delicious fruit sweetened only with fruit juice concentrate....
p.s No good sending in a rescue party for me. One look of her disdain could destroy a platoon of hardened veterans!
