Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, tastes of chocolate
Disadvantages: Very sweet
When it comes to chocolate spread it really is something that I don't usually buy but the other I was looking for peanut butter when I spotted this Tesco own chocolate spread and I decided that for £1.32 a jar I'd buy me and my mate (who is staying with me at the moment) it to try on toast as a late night snack and that as we both adore chocolate.
This comes in one size and in a glass jar with a white plastic lid to the top of it that simply twists on and off. Around the jar there is a red, blue and white label and on the front of that we are told that it is Tesco 'Value' Chocolate Spread and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown. On the back of the jar other information listed includes ingredients used within it and allergy advice, a full nutritional chart is shown, the size is stated (which is 600g so you get alot of spread for your money) and contact details for Tesco are given. Cheap looking packaging this is but to be fair to it, it is informative enough and simple to open and so on.
The Chocolate Spread Itself:
Well open up the jar and you are met with a set milk chocolate looking and smelling spreadable spread and very smooth spread at that and not one bit gloopy. It really is spreadable and best stored in a cool and dry place so mine lives in a cupboard.
I like the ease of spreading this and to be fair to it although it is sweet in flavour and naturally sweet at that and lacks a creaminess to it, it does taste of chocolate though it isn't really rich in flavour and for me and my mate it is a little on the sugary side though like I say this is a smooth spread and you can't actually feel the sugar on your teeth when your consuming it.
Its flavoursome enough, a little of it goes a long way and it tastes of chocolate though it isn't the best quality or flavour of chocolate spread I have ever eaten and I personally find this too sweet to simply eat off a spoon and all!
