Raid is a wonderful idea, write data across several drives at the same time, to either increase speed or security. RAID 0 (Striping) spreads the data across 2 drives, making accessing files faster. RAID 1 (Mirroring) writes the data to BOTH drives at the same time, so if a drive fails you have a backup. RAID 0+1 does both, so you have speed and reliability, but you need 4 drives. This card ONLY supports these modes, it does not support RAID 5. It also only has an IDE interface, running at 100mbits/s. No 133mbit support.
