Introduction

Say goodbye to the regular ribbon cables inside your computer case - all they do is add clutter and aid in reducing airflow to the components. These are known in the trade as "rounded" cables. This one is for use with the floppy drive.
The Use

I still had the old ribbon cables - which are not the prettiest things to look at. And also I have a computer case with a window so you can see all the clutter - it doesn't look the prettiest. I decided to purchase these. These are also available in the form for the CD drive too - this one I'm reviewing is for the floppy drive. They are both very similar.
The Cable

You can get all sorts of different colours and varieties. I went for this UV finish one. I have a blue cathode in my case and thought that would have at least some effect on the finish - and it does. There is a nice glow which comes out of it. I know if I have a UV lamp inside it would have been much better. You get the usual connectors on either side of the cable which extends about 40 cms; which is more than enough to reach your drive and your motherboard.
The cable is made really well, the plastic on top of the cabling is really nice and thick, not flimsey at all.
The Installation

Installation is very simple. Simply pull out the old ribbon cable and put this in the place of it! That's it! - Just make sure you have taken anti static measures as static can fry your components.
Conclusion

Getting this will increase airflow in your computer, and as a result can increase performance as it's cooled more adequately. These small things make a big difference. And your computer looks more nice.
Summary: You really need these if you still have the old ribbon cables
