JMR Penquin PEN7 ... and offers a unique, SAF-TE (SCSI Accessed Fault-Tolerant Enclosures) 1.0 command set along with many more advanced features for improved storage management. All models include N+1 N+1power power supplies, hot-swappable ball-bearing fans, hot-swappable locking canisters, Smart controller and a front control panel user interface.

The JMR exclusive control panel interface consists of an LCD display, keypad, status LEDs, audible alert and a reset button. The PENQUIN Smart RAID towers use a Smart controller, which offers twenty-six commands, along with the eight standard SAF-TE commands, for a total of thirty-four commands. All commands may be selected through either the SCSI Bus or front panel LCD. In addition, the PENQUIN series offers "fast/wide" version to accommodate various bus configurations from all drives on a single channel, up to one channel per drive.
