... and to this end the usb cable is very short. The USB plug itself and it's heavy duty braided cable clips neatly into the unit when not in use and thats great. It is so short however that once you have more than a couple of USB or firewire cable plugged in it rather gets in the way making it easy to pull it out. This can be fixed by using a USB extension but that rather defeats the object.

For me this product has been very disappointing. Although it does (or rather has done) all the things it's supposed to the overall quality just isn't good enough. When it is working the hub is fast, and in every way a useful tool. When it is working.... The hub is designed to travel, fitting easily into a bag or pocket and to this end the usb cable is very short. The USB plug itself and it's heavy duty braided cable clips neatly into the unit when not in use and thats great. Introduction Those of you that have been following my september review output will maybe have noticed that there is a certain system to my madness as I've reviewed here recently both an add-in USB2 controller card and my digital photocamera, the minolta dīmage 2300.
