The eXtremeRAID 1100 includes the feature-rich RAID technology found in all Mylex RAID products. Based on a new hardware and software architecture, and with industry leading features for fault tolerance, the eXtremeRAID product is ideal for the next generation of enterprise computing. Mylex's eXtremeRAID 1100 has a multitude of fault detection and fault tolerance features, as well as new functions to ease set-up, flexibility and management. The new Immediate RAID Availability (background initialization) feature enables other set-up tasks to be performed while the rest of the system is being configured. RAID-expansion allows users to add drives to existing arrays and re-stripe data across all the drives. The additional storage space created by the new drive expands the capacity of the existing logical drive or creates an additional logical drive. RAID-migration allows for easy reconfiguration from one RAID level to another. The copy-drive group feature provides users with a method of transferring the contents of one logical drive to another in a single step.
