Advantages: Some Useful Course Modules

Disadvantages: Lecturers Are Very Disorganised

I went there for three years between 1992 and 1995 and completed a 2:1 honours degree in BSc Information Systems Development. I had the choice of going to several universities but this was local to me. At the time the course I was on never covered the Web which was a major disadvantage to me when I went out into the real world. Some of syllabus covered was very useful including C++ programming(we were among the first to learn the Object Oriented Methodology), Human Computer Interaction using Visual Basic (this is excellent for Web Development). The courses themselves were not organised enough often we would get our assignments for each course option in week 9 and they were meant to be in by week 10 completing 4 assignments in under two weeks was frantic but I suppose did simulate work in the real world. The business options covered on the course were completely useless. Some of the lecturers didn’t seem to know what planet they were on. No wonder I took a long break at the end. All in all probably the same as any other university judging from tales told to me by friends.
