Also, if you fail this you are given a simplified programming project and not allowed to continue to the MSc. I did this course a few years ago and found it very hard work but very enjoyable. Basically it is a full year conversion masters to take non computing science students in and spit them out a year later as programmers, network engineers, IT Managers etc. The majority of student have little IT experience although those with engineering and scientific degree can find it a little easier than the Arts and Social Science people. It has a healthy overseas component- my year had people from Turkey, Greece, Singapore, China and in general, I found that the Overseas students had much more IT knowledge, a lot were already professional programmers wanting a British Qualification. ...
