I graduated at Computer Science in 1999 at Lancaster University. Looking back at the course, I would like to express my opinion... If you have a firm grasp of Computing then this is the course for you. The majority of the degree is taught well, using a variety of teaching methods and recommending many hard-copy and online resources. The main let-down is that the Programming module is taught badly! The fundation course of Object Oriented Programming (in this case Java) which is the foundation for the remaining two years is taught badly, both in lectures, and the recommended course-text, a badly written book (Java First Contact), written by one of the University's own lecturers. If you wish to do Computer Science at Lancaster University, do it. Just make sure you get a decent Java & OOP book and read through before you even go to the first lecture.
