With famous sociologists as lecturers, such as Nick Abercrombie, Andrew Sayer, Joh Law, and Kevin Hetherington, Sociology offers a wide range of interesting subjects to study. In the first year every student at Lancaster has to do three subjects, which does seem a bit harsh at first, but if you don't like the course you were going to do this is REALLY useful for you as you can change your major at the end of the the year easily. Also you only do 3 hours a week on each subject so its not like its hard or anything. I did Philosophy, which was REALLY easy and the department are really nice so they didn't mind when I didn't go to seminars....which was perfect for me, culture, media and communications, which was more concerned with the media, which was also easy...(see a pattern here? if you choose easy subjects then there is less of a ...
