Advantages: Good mental exercise

Disadvantages: too methodical, boring

This is a computer course and I started it because I wanted to learn more about computing. It is based around programming and the use of a temperature sensing apparatus.
I enjoyed the start of the course whuich involved discussion of how computers work and I enjoyed programming in C. It brought back memories of Basic ! Then the course became more involved in machine code. It was then that I lost interest. It was not that I could not understand the work - I just found it tedious and as I take OU courses for mental stimulation not necessity I stopped.
If you enjoy the numerical side of programming and have the patience for all the detail and checking then this is the course for you. However if you want to be more intuitive and develope opinions and ideas then it probably isn't.
