George Animal Print Weekend Bag
by Abski2001 George Animal Print Weekend Bag Over the past few months I have been lucky enough to go on a couple of short breaks and hen weekends and wanted a fancy bag to take with me. George at Asda has been a godsend for me recently and this bag is no exception. Again it is leopard print, my favourite, but this print is a bit more ... funky! The Weekend Bag I have a suitcase that I usually use for going away on short trips, but it is just a little too big for a night or two and quite awkward to carry about. This weekend bag is a great size for a mini break away with dimensions of - Height approximately 35 cm, width approximately 50 cm. It is big enough to hold lots of clothes and goodies, but no so big that it rips your arm off while you are carrying it! You wouldn't be able to fit a big selection of your favourite shoes in there but it is good for a couple of sets of clothes. The bag is a bit of a bowl shape, with a rectangular bottom and rounded top where the zip goes. The zip is relatively chunky and goes right the way across the top of the bag, sealing your valuables inside, it feels pretty sturdy and secure. The handles are a warm brown rubbery/faux leather chunky straps that are long enough to fit easily over your shoulder even with a thick coat on. These are attached to the outside of the bag on either side with discoloured gold loops. The print is the main attraction for me with this bag, it is not only animal print, but a nice, funky turquoise and brown print on a light off white backing. There is also a large side pocket on one side of the bag that has the print on as well, again with a little zip to seal it. Inside the bag there are a few more pockets in the lining for your essential items such as phone, make up etc. which is really handy although I tend to always have a separate hand bag with me when I use this bag so I don't have to cart it around everywhere. Now onto the price, George at Asda has such reasonable prices, I love it and this is no exception. It cost me the princely sum of £9. I like buying handbags and bags and they usually set me back a fair bit but I don't mind because I know they will last. This is not a bag for life, but for a few weekend breaks away a year I think this will do pretty well. Read the complete review |

George Animal Print Weekend Bag
by flodombey I saw this bag in Asda recently while I was shopping for other things (isn't that always the way with supermarkets these days!?) and I liked the shape and size of it as an occasional weekend bag. They had it in three different prints, the leopard style pictured above, zebra print and a print with lots of rabbits on (?). All were the same ... shape, size and style and priced at £9 - I bought the zebra print one. You effectively get what you pay for, this is a cheaply produced bag made of man made materials in a combination of faux leather and plastic. It has two large handles attached with rings to the main body of the bag and they do seem pretty sturdy. It has a smallish zip pocket on the front and a large main compartment. The zebra print is on the main body of the bag and then the base and the reinforced sections around the handles are a block black colour. The base of the bag is flat and it sits easily upright. The measurements are as follows: height 13 inches / 34cm and width 20 inches / 50cm. I find this bag is just about big enough to shove a few essentials in for an overnight away, I would not use it as a cabin bag for two reasons - for me it does not have enough compartments and also I prefer a bag with a shoulder strap so that I have a choice about how to carry it. Although this bag is pretty fashionable it does not give a lot of choice in terms of use. For £9 this is a stylish and fashionable bag which serves a basic purpose and it does have enough space for a short break but you would have to be very economical with what you took. It looks pretty good but is also pretty basic. Read the complete review |

George Animal Print Weekend Bag
by walsha11 Hi, my name is Amelia and I'm addicted to leopard print. It feels good to get that out! As soon as I saw this 'animal' print bag I knew I would end up buying it. I was actually looking for a holiday bag anyway, something I could take to the airport and use at the beach. It seemed to fit the bill and also was nice enough that I ... might be able to use it for other things too. I found it really good for carrying the things I needed in the airport on my most recent holiday and I have also found it great for using on the beach. A slight issue that arose was that it has a load of nooks and crannies in which sand can easily get and survive for a while. The bag is also described as a weekend bag but personally I think it is probably a little small for this kind of use. However, for what I bought it for it is fine. I have also found it useful for taking my books and folders to Uni and back, this is a nice unexpected usage which is really handy for me. The bag has a leopard style print all over it but with a nice colourful twist. Some of the spots are a greeny/turquoisy colour which adds a cool playful edge to an otherwise quite tame bag. The bag also has a tan coloured trim in a faux leather fabric. I personally think this looks a little cheap but for a back that was inexpensive you probably can't expect any more! The handles on the bag do feel pretty sturdy and I haven't had any problems with them. They are long enough for over the shoulder use but also sit comfortably on your lower arm. There is a long pocket on the front of the back which is pretty handy for all those belongings you need to reach quickly. I have used it for my phone though I do worry a little because it does up in the middle with a single popper and probably isn't super safe. I would avoid putting things in here if you are using it in a busy or dangerous area. Otherwise there are no issues. In the bag there are also a phone pocket and a zip pocket. I don't tend to put my phone in this pocket because I like putting it in the outer one and I find it hard to get out of this one when in a rush. The zip pocket is good for keeping small change and other important belongings. Everything else goes in the main body of the bag and is easy to reach. The bag costs £9 from Asda which is relatively cheap for such a big bag. I would definitely say it is good value for money, though if you plan to use it for a weekend bag then you need to pack lightly! Overall, a nice bag which indulges my love of leopard print.
