“ Brand: Antler / Type: Hard Case / Trolley: 2 Wheels / Style: Standard Cases „
I bought this suitcase during the summer for a holiday with my two children and I to spain. I wanted something big enough to be able to carry most of our clothes but not something overly large that was going to be difficult for me to manage as I had hand luggage as well.
The revelation by antler seemed ideal when I was looking for one as it seemed like it was going to be the right size and it was made by Antler whom I always associate with quality regardless of whether this is true or not.
It was only £29.99 from Argos and the only problem with this was that I couldn't see it except from a picture before buying it.
The case is 51cm in height which seemed like it was large enough when I got my measuring tape out but in the flesh it was smaller than I expected. This wasn't a huge problem as both my kids have their own little suitcases and I was taking hand luggage that had quite a lot of room in it. It is actually just in the range of cabin luggage so can be taken on most aeroplanes as hand luggage if you wante to.
It is one of those cases that has a hard outer shell which was a must for me as I know how the airlines just throw bags around and I wanted to be sure anything fragile I put in it would be protected. It weighs 3.3kg before you add anything so it isn't overly heavy but it also isn't the lightest case in the world either.
Surprisingly for a smallish case it is quite roomy inside and the makers state that it has a capacity of 4 litres. What this means in the real world is that I managed to get a lot more clothes in it than I thought I would just from looking at it. There is only the one large pocket inside but again this is large enough to fit loads of smaller items in it such as mobile phone chargers and toiletries.
The handle comes up to a good height for me but it may not be quite high enough if you are very tall. I also find that it can be quite stiff and doesn't retract and pull out as smoothly as I would like and I am a little nervous that it may snap if I am a little rough with it.
The wheels are great though and really smooth and they follow me around corners and when I run without getting stuck o trying to turn in the other direction. This is important for me when I use a suitcase as I hate with a passion when you use one that will not just follow behind without being all over the place.
It comes with a lock but this is useless and wouldn't detract anyone trying to gain access to your stuff inside so if you want one I would recommend you get yourself a decent one.
There is also no outside pocket which wasn't a problem for me as it went in the hold but ifI was using it as hand luggage this would irk me as it would mean I would have to open and shut it to get out passorts and tickets etc.
The other slight problem I had with it was that it looked identical to about 50% of the other suitcases when it came round the carriage in Spain which made me a little nervous ensuring I had got the right case but we rectified this by adding some stickers for the return journey so we would know it was our one.
I think this suitcase is a great buy at the price. It is well made and roomy. If you are going to be using it as your main suitcase then you made need to look at something a little bigger but for cabin luggage or those who pack quite light then this is ideal.
Capacity 41 litres.
