Last year I decided it was time to replace our old and sorry looking Antler suitcase. It had given many years of service and travelled all over the world so I really couldn't complain that it was now on its last legs-or should that be wheels! Anyway I knew I wanted another Antler as it's a brand I trust. I also wanted the case to have wheels and be easy to pull as I suffer from a back problem. We already have several Antler cases and the new case was going to replace a medium sized one. Having shopped around I found just what I was looking for in our local Argos.
The Antler revelation 61 cm roller case, to give it its full name comes in a smart looking charcoal grey colour so doesn't show the dirt! It is a lightweight hard shell case weighing in at 3.5 kg. It can take a generous 57 litres and when full can be quite heavy so remember to check the eight once you have packed so you don't exceed your baggage allowance!
The case measures 61 cm in height, is 40 cm wide and 24 cm deep, so should fit easily into most car boots. It has 4 wheels, two on each side, a retractable handle, a padlock with two keys and double zip closures.
Inside there are elasticated straps to help keep your clothes in place and several useful small pockets to keep small items from getting lost.
I have used this case on several occasions now including two flights and several weekends away. The case has stood up to the rough handling that seems the norm of the world's airports! The zip works well and I have never had any problem with it sticking although I am not a fan of zip closures as they tend to break.
The wheels are well placed to make this case very stable and it glides along with ease. I am pleased to say that I have no problem pulling this case and even my 7 year old son ahs pulled it without any problems. The handle works well and is easily pushed back when not needed.
My only criticism is that the padlock and keys are very flimsy and whilst they might deter a opportunist thief, they would do little to stop someone from prising open the case if they were determined! However it is easy to buy something a bit more substantial for little outlay.
I bought this case from Argos and paid around £40. I see it is still on offer for £39.99.I can highly recommend this case, its well made, easy to pull and doesn't cost the earth!
