Advantages: Nice size, nice design, phone pocket is perfect size for smart phones

Disadvantages: Described as a weekend bag but not THAT big

Once we had booked our week away to Spain, I set about looking for holiday buys so I could by things a little at a time to save one big expense. One of the first things I bought was a bag to take on the airplane. I needed a bag that was large enough to house a portable DVD player, book, extra nappies, wet wipes, snacks and the like. When doing my weekly shop, I spotted this in Asda and thought it would be perfect.

The bag, although described as a weekend bag, is quite small. There is no way I would be able to fit all of my things in for a weekend away. It is approximately 30cm high, 50cm wide and 15cm deep. This is bigger than your average handbag, but not big enough to be a weekend bag.

The bag has a funky, almost leopard print, design. With the green spots outlined by black sitting on a gold/yellow background. The trim around the pocket and end of the zip is tan in colour, matching the tan handles. The handles are very strong and feel safe when you hold them in your hands. They are long enough to be able to put over your shoulder and be able to reach inside whilst the bag is still sitting on your shoulder.

The bag has a pocket which sits on the front of the bag, this pocket covers the majority of the front so it is nice and roomy. This only problem with this pocket is that it only does up with a single popper in the middle. I haven't used this pocket for anything over than rubbish when we was on the plane. I don't like the idea of putting anything of any value in there in fear of someone slipping their hand in.

Inside the bag is a phone pocket and a zip up pocket. The phone pocket isn't like old bags with the thin little pocket, it is quite big and I can fit my Blackberry inside without any problems. The zip up pocket is the perfect size for a purse, I can just squeeze mine in. These pockets are ideal if the bag is being used as an every day bag, it saves you rummaging trying to find each item.

The main inside of the bag is quite roomy, I was able to put in everything I needed for the flight and my wrap around small handbag with room to spare. Before and after the holiday, I've also occasionally used this bag as a main bag as it is the perfect size to fit in my daughter bits and pieces, nappies, wet wipes, drink, change of clothes. Like I said previously, I wouldn't be able to use this bag as a weekend bag as it isn't THAT big!

I paid £9 from my local Asda for this bag. I think that is fantastic value for money. It has a trendy design and is of a nice size. It's big, but not too big to not be used as an every day bag. It isn't big enough for a weekend bag, however.

Summary: Suited me perfectly for hand luggage
