Advantages: Attractive, Cheap & Functional.
Disadvantages: Won't Stand Upright!
The day before I was due to go away back in June, at about eight o'clock at night, I realised that my suitcase had broken... and so ensued a major panic on my part! Realising that relatively few places would still be open at that time of night I decided to make a dash to Marks and Spencer in the hope that I would be able to pick up a light and reasonably priced suitcase for my holiday! I'd never bought luggage before from Marks and Spencer but a quick glance at their website told me that they did indeed offer luggage in their larger stores at a range of different price points.
At Marks and Spencer there was quite a range of suitcases on offer, both hard and soft ones in a variety of sizes including several other luggage options too. After a bit of deliberating about which colour and size to get I finally selected a medium sized soft suitcase in black from their value range which is basically their own version of the economy range offered by many stores these days. There were a range of different price points on offer and I could easily have spent a small fortune but the economy range cases seemed quite hard wearing and robust too.
Although I selected the suitcase in black it also comes in a few different fabrics including a pink colour with a blue pattern, a purple colour with white spots and a red colour with a white pattern. I also selected a medium one which has a capacity of sixty eight litres; the range also offers a small case (with a capacity of forty three litres) and a large case (with a capacity of seventy five litres). The medium case seemed the best option for me so as to avoid going over my luggage limit and it also only weighed 4.2kg so was fairly lightweight meaning I could pack lots more!
The case is made from hardwearing polyester and also has the ability to expand by twenty percent when it's packed. The main suitcase area opens with two zips to reveal a fully lined interior with elasticated packing straps and a separated pocket in the lid of the case. The case has a strap on the side and one on the top, along with an extending handle on the top to allow you to roll the case along using the wheels on the bottom of it too. The case also comes with an address tag and a padlock which wasn't really the sturdiest and I replaced it with my own.
The case's dimensions are 68cm by 43cm by 26cm so it is a fair size, with a bigger capacity than most cases of a similar size I've found. I've used this case twice now and it's withstood being packed to bursting point and being thrown around inside an airport's luggage area too. I'd recommend this case as it's priced at £29.50 which to me seems really reasonable for such a robust case of this size. However it does loose a star for one downside which is that it won't stand upright unless it has something to lean against... a little bit like me after a drink really!
Thanks for reading.
