Advantages: Its light and durable
Disadvantages: It doesn't look very pretty
Whenever I go on holidays, I always find it hard to keep within the given weight limit because I like to plan for every eventuality. When flying with budget airlines, I am frequently given the task of doing so within a specific weight limit. This is hard enough for me, but harder still when the weight of my empty suitcase takes away a quarter of this limit before I've even packed. For this reason, I decided to purchase the Sub Zero G World's Lightest Luggage Trolley Case.
What makes this suitcase special?
I've got the medium sized one and the most special feature of this suitcase is that it only weighs 2.19kg. This means that your weight allowance won't be eaten up by the suitcase itself so you can take more things. It also means that if you are travelling relatively lightly, your suitcase won't be too heavy for you to manage.
My suitcase isn't the prettiest thing I've ever seen and it doesn't stand out in a way which would make you spot it on a conveyor belt. It is made from Nylon and it is a dark grey colour. The zips are black and the handles are both silver. The inside of the suitcase is black and it is covered with grey squares. If this is too boring for you then you can also get the suitcases in brighter shades of pink or red and there are also some patterned ones that you will have no trouble locating on a conveyor belt.
It has a volume of 60 litres and internal pockets in order to keep some of your things separate and safe. It has a silver retractable pulling handle with a black part for your hand so if it gets too heavy for you, then you can wheel the bag along on its wheels and it also has a grey handle on the top and side which you can use to carry the suitcase instead. Its two zips meet in the middle so the case can be padlocked shut for your extra piece of mind.
There are two pockets on the inside which you can slip things into and one of them is netted so you can see the things you put inside. On there front there are two zipped pockets, one large and one small and they make for good storage and the easy location of your things without you having to undo the whole suitcase. The suitcase is 71cm tall, 44cm wide and it has a depth of 24cm. If this is too big or small then there is a small, large and even a cabin bag also available. The suitcase also has a strap that you can link over your clothes so that even if your suitcase isn't quite full, then your clothes will stay neat and folded up inside.
I got mine from Argos and it cost me £34.99 which I think is a reasonable price for something that should last for years and should allow me to carry a lot more of my things around with me. It is also available from a variety of online websites so you may find it for a little bit cheaper.
The suitcase is just as light as promised and this means I can include lots more of my own things when packing. The outside does look quite flimsy and delicate and I didn't know how well it would withstand being hauled and flung about. It is soft too so I didn't know how well it would protect the things inside. I needed have worried however because all of my things have remained intact with this suitcase and the delicate looking exterior has survived without a scratch. The retractable handle is easy to pull out and it is a good height for me when trying to pull the case. The wheels spin well and you can manoeuvre the suitcase without too much bother. The suitcase has enough compartments for me to separate my luggage out which allows me to be more organised and stops me from having to rummage through the whole thing.
All in all, this suitcase is really very light and despite its delicate appearance, it does a good job of protecting my things and it is quite hard wearing. It has plenty of compartment and interlocking zips which means that you can keep your things safe and sound. Apart from the rather drab appearance, this suitcase is great for those who like to travel light... while carrying lots of things!
