Advantages: Give a nice, natural looking glow

Disadvantages: Pearls break up easily, can make a mess on the carpet!

I am naturally really pale so daily make up is a must for me to help me look less ghost like. I always use a powder/foundation, followed by a bronzer of some kind to give my cheeks some colour and at present I have Boots 17 Instant Glow Bronzing Pearls.

Generally, I don't go for the cheaper ranges of make up and most of my make up bag consists of Boots No7 stuff, but I purchased these on a recommendation of a work colleague who swears by them.

A pot of these bronzing pearls costs just £4.99 which is a bargain in comparison with the likes of Boots No7 which charge around £11.00 for their similar product.

I use a thick dusting brush with these pearls and simply swish the brush over the top of the pearls a couple of times to enable the brush to pick up a bit of colour and dust the brush across my cheek area. Sometimes for an added bit of glow I gently dust the brush over the forehead area too. As I use a large dusting brush, you don't tend to get lines and therefore you don't look too 'made up'.

I really like the colour these pearls leave on your skin. They give a nice, healthy bronzed look but without making you look like you've had an accident with fake tan. As it is really light, you get a really natural looking glow which is exactly the look I wanted.

You can get two shades with these bronzing pearls which are light and medium. I went for the medium ones as although I am naturally pale, I was assured by my friend that these would be perfect for me and she was right. I think the light pearls wouldn't have given me enough of a glow to make a difference whereas the medium ones are perfect.

The coloured pearls have a slight shimmer which is also nice. The shimmer again is quite natural looking and doesn't leave your skin looking shiny and greasy but just really helps the skin to look really alive and healthy.

I have found that the pearls do break up quite easily after a few dusts over with the brush but that isn't a problem as you just use it as a bronzing powder as opposed to pearls but I have been using these pearls for a good 2-3 months now and although some of the pearls have disintegrated into powder, there are still a good degree that are still intact. The different coloured pearls work really well together. There are some lighter shimmery pearls along with some darker, golden pearls. All of which when blended together with your brush give a really nice colour, even to the palest of skin.

The only thing you need to be careful of is that sometimes the pearls get caught up in the brush, which is fine but if you don't notice then they can drop out onto your carpet and if they are walked over can tread the colour into the carpet. This has happened to me a couple of times and although the colour does come out of the carpet with a good wipe, it isn't ideal so is just something to beware of.

These were recommended to me and I can see why. They are from quite a cheap make up range in the Boots17 range but they don't feel cheap on the skin. At £4.99, you are getting a bargain as they will last you forever and give a really nice, light dusting of a golden colour which will make your skin look golden and healthy but not fake in any way. I highly recommend Boots 17 Instant Glow Bronzing Pearls as they work really well on my skin and give my cheeks a nice colouring.

Summary: A really good set of bronzing pearls in the Boots 17 range
