Olay Complete Multi Radiance SPF 15
by pink_glitter
Like many others, I am currently doing a trial of Olay Multi-Radiance moisturising lotion, which I was sent by website Supersavvyme. I was interested to try this, as despite my love of beauty products, I have not really had much experience of the Olay brand.
The multi-radiance lotion comes in two varieties - normal/oily and ... normal/dry. I was sent normal/oily but I think normal/dry would probably have suited me better as my skin does tend to get dry quite quickly. I was still happy to try this out though, only recently I mentioned in another review that I have often found that even if a product is not designed for my skin type it will still work for me. The lotion contains SPF15 which is a positive thing as we all know how important it is to protect the skin from the sun, but I have to say I have found that most moisturisers containing SPF can leave my skin looking greasy so that was one concern I had prior to using this.
The lotion comes presented in a box. Most of the info on the box is also printed onto the bottle, so to some extent I think the box is unnecessary, but at least it is easily recycled. The bottle itself is white with accents of pale gold and I think it looks quite nice. It has a pump dispenser which can be twisted to lock shut, so handy if you're carrying it around. The only negative point with the packaging is that I have found the pump will get clogged sometimes, so when I dispense the lotion I get a yucky jelly-like lump of lotion with it!
The lotion is a creamy colour and under some lights appears to have a very slight iridescence to it. It has a nice, light and fresh scent. It mentions on the bottle that it contains mandarin extract, but I don't think it smells of mandarins. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it smells of, but the fragrance is not too strong which is a good thing for me as I don't like putting strongly scented products on my face.
I use around 2-3 pumps of this lotion on my face and neck every morning. It glides on easily and sinks in quite quickly. It doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or tacky and provides a good base for make-up.
Although I was not initially sure what to expect from this I have been impressed with the results. Firstly, it makes my skin look so much better. I think it must be the light reflecting particles it contains as my skin does have a subtle glow to it and looks so much fresher and more awake after applying this. Despite the SPF, it doesn't make my skin look oily or greasy in any way.
In terms of moisturising, I have found this to be fairly good. I have dry patches around my nose, probably as a result of the constant cold I have been suffering from lately, and it will leave even those parts moisturised. The problem, unfortunately is that on these very dry bits of skin, the effects will only last about three-four hours. I think this may be due to this being a cream designed for normal/oily skin rather than for dry skin. On the more 'normal' areas of my skin - cheeks, chin and forehead, the moisturising effects last much longer and since using this, I have never felt the need to top up the moisturiser in those areas.
It might be worth noting, that this doesn't make any claims in regard to anti-ageing or getting rid of fine lines or anything of that nature. This said, I do think the fact that it gives the skin a bit of a glow makes my skin look slightly more youthful on its own.
The lotion costs £7.99 in Boots for a 75ml bottle. I actually thought that was a really good price and I would have been more than willing to pay that, however I noticed last week that ASDA sell this for just £4 which is amazing. I have just checked and seen that it now shows as £5 on their website so that may have been a special offer, but the point is it is worth shopping around to save yourself a few pounds.
Overall, I have been really pleased with this moisturiser. I will definitely purchase it again, but will go for the dry skin version instead and it is a product I would recommend to others.

Olay Complete Care Multi Radiance Radiant Glow Day Fluid SPF15 Normal/Oily
by scooch12
As I've mentioned in previous reviews, I'm not keen on face and body creams in general - I always forget to apply them and I hate them being on my skin as it makes me feel all sticky and feel like I want to wash it off as soon as it's on. But, I was sent this cream as a sample to try out and while it was free, I made a point of trying ... it. It's fast become a cream that I apply every single day and one that I will continue to use even when the time comes for me to buy it. At the moment, it's on sale in all supermarkets at £5 for a 75ml bottle.
The cream comes in a box and then inside this is a white bottle that is thinner at the bottom and gets a bit chunkier at the top. It has a gold ring towards the top and a white pump top that you press to release the cream. The pump part swivels from left to right to lock/unlock the pump for use. The bottle isn't see through although I find that if it's held up to the light, I can see where the cream is up to inside.
When the pump is pressed, it releases around a 5p size blob into your hand. I find that this is enough to cover most of my face - usually I end up using two blobs to cover my whole face and under my chin. The cream is white in colour and has a good consistency - it isn't runny but it isn't very thick so it is so easy to rub into the skin. It rubs in so well, that I don't even feel it's applied on my face. It certainly doesn't leave your skin feeling like it has a mask on like I find with some other creams. As soon as you touch the cream, it begins to soak in and the white colour gradually disappears. After a couple of seconds, the white cream has completely disappeared.
The giveaway that it is actually there is the glow that it gives to my face, this was even noticeable after only one application. I also think it has helped to even out my skin tone. It actually says on the bottle that it is for normal/oily skin but I have dry skin and it works very well for me, it feels so much better now after around 4 weeks use. My skin feels so much softer to touch, it's so much smoother. I use it before applying my make up, although I'm not sure whether this is one of it's intended uses. I find though that my liquid foundation applies very smoothly across it.
I think the smell is a major positive for this cream too. It smells gorgeous, to me it has a similar smell to some of the premium brands out there. I find it very hard to describe but it reminds me a little of cucumbers, although it says on the back of the bottle that it contains a mandarin extract so maybe that's just me! It's not a very strong smell but you can smell it once it's been applied for a while after as the scent lingers, the reason I like using it so much is partly due to it's lovely fragrance.
The bottle states that it gives 24 hours radiance and I would say it lives up to this claim - I have applied it every day in the morning and by night-time, I have rarely applied it to my face again as my face still feels moisturised and still has that glow there. Even when I have decided to use it again at night, it hasn't really needed another application - I just have done because I like the smell and the way it feels on my skin! The cream has SPF 15 protection which is a nice extra that I like having throughout the day.
I would definitely recommend this cream - especially to people who are like me and aren't that into using lotions and creams on their skin. This is a lovely product that I feel gives very good value. I will have no hesitation in replacing my bottle with another at full price when it runs out.
A great product!
