Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer
Advantages: No streaks, lasts along time, easy to use and apply to hard to reach areas
Disadvantages: None that I can find!
I am one of those people who can look washed out in certain outfits, showing my arms or legs in an outfit I can look a little washed out, that is why I do crave a bit of a tan. I would never consider going on a sun bed, especially after all the recent health warnings and have tried spray tans in the past, once it was in a booth where the tan sprayed out a mist and you had to jump around in there (did you ever see that episode of Friends with Ross, you will know what I mean if you did!!!) I have also had the embarrassment of having a beauty therapist spray me but I found it really uncomfortable so the best way for me is a DIY job, and that is where the Garnier Ambre Solaire Fake Tan suits me down to the ground.
I previously reviewed the Sally Hanson leg bronzer but on occasions bare my shoulders so like the upper part of my body to have a healthy glow. I have had a few fake tan disasters in the past, mainly due to the fact that I used creams rather than mists so it was easy to miss parts of my skin and therefore leave patches, this is where the Garnier tan differs, and it is a dry body mist.
The bottle itself is 150ml in size and bronze and brown in colour and is easy identifiable on the shop shelves. I brought my last bottle in Superdrug on an offer of 10% of its original retail price of £5.99. You can find the bottle in most Supermarkets or leading high street retailers. The front of the bottle gives bullet points on what the mist does and the back of the bottle gives instructions of how to use and how the product works.
To open the bottle is really easy, you remove the clear plastic cap and then press down on the clearly marked dispenser to release the fake tan mist. You need to shake the bottle firmly before you use it and then holding the can approximately 30cm away from the area of skin you are applying you need to move the can in a regular up and down motion. This does sound easier than it looks as you can't really see them mist going onto your skin! However, as long as you do follow the up and down motion I have found that the mist does cover really evenly.
What I like about this product that as the fake tan is supplied as a mist it dries really quickly and you are not left standing around waiting for it to dry for fear of having it on your clothes. There is also the fact that you are not left with bright orange hands when applying as the mist goes straight onto your skin and does not require any rubbing in. The 360° nozzle can even reach those really difficult areas such as the backs of your legs and the backs of your arms.
What I would recommend is that you exfoliate before you use the fake tan, but this is what I would recommend before you use any fake tan. When I have applied this in a rush without exfoliating I have found that I have had a couple of uneven patches on my skin.
With this product you are left with a really natural looking tan. I choose the normal to dark skin option but there is a fair to normal skin bottle as well. If you are looking for a darker tan then all you need to do is apply another layer of the mist. You can clearly see the results working after 3 hours and if I apply the product of an evening I wake up in the morning with a fantastic healthy glow!
I would really recommend this product to anyone. It is certainly the best fake tan that I have ever used and maybe because it is in mist form the product seams to last along time.
Happy fake tanning!!! 5 Doyoo stars from me.
Thanks for reading.
