Advantages: Easy to apply yourself. Dries quickly
Disadvantages: Slightly streaky and with a mild orangey tint.
I am pale... it sucks. I also never tan, I burn....this also sucks. I have now come to terms that I will never be a lovely bronzed colour when I return from holiday, I shall be lobster pink and peeling instead.
Normally being pale is not so much of an issue for me. I'm not really that fussed but I recently had to attend an Indian wedding where the dress code was white and gold and although I loved my outfit it made me look very pale and washed out so I decided to plump for some fake tan.
I decided to go for a spray tanning solution as opposed to a cream or mousse as I just wanted to be able to apply it quickly and not worry about streaks and the like.
The Garnier Ambre Solaire spray was recommended to me by a friend so I purchased the Light spray from my locacl Boots store. It was priced at £10 which I thought was ridiculous but I didn't have time to shop around and didn't want to buy something cheaper and end up looking like I'd been tangoed.
***Application***
Directions state to spray in long even motions over the area you want to be tanned. Keep the can approx 40cm away from skin. I only did my legs and arms with 2 coats over 2 days. If you want a deeper, darker colour keep applying until you have the shade you desire.
There is no need to rub in and the mist drys instantly, the spray can be used at multiple angles so you can do most of the spraying yourself although it can still be difficult to reach everywhere.
***Results***
I was pleased with the results but I wouldn't say that all the claims are completely accurate.
'Natural looking tan' - I found the colour to have a slightly orange hue to it which was not particularly noticeable if you have only applied it once or twice but if you wanted to go any darker would be in danger of looking very fake.
'No streaks/Dries Instantly' - I did find that the mist didn't dry 'instantly' but it didn't take very long either. This resulted in some of the liquid running and leaving a couple of streaks but, again, this was not glaringly obvious. The streaking could, of course, have been caused by my inept ability at self tanning but I do feel I followed the directions as closely as possible.
Summary: Overall, good if you want a light touch of colour.
