Avon Bronzing Pearls
Advantages: Good packaging, natural look
Disadvantages: Not the longest lasting product, shimmery which some people don't like
I received these Avon bronzing pearls as a gift. I don't really buy Avon products just because an Avon lady doesn't deliver to my house, if there was one then I'm sure I would buy from them. I love looking through the catalogue and ordering things, I also think they do great sales and are good value for money in general.
My Avon bronzing pearls came in a round, black tub. It's quite large and it's definitely a lot bigger than the bronzers you can get in the makeup section at Boots and Superdrug etc. This is great because it means it should last longer. The shiny black container these come in is pretty simple, it has 'Avon' carved into the lid and it looks quite sleek and sophisticated. When you open the tub, you see a white, round sponge which is the same size in diamater as the pot and fits snugly inside. This is a really good thing because it means the applicator is there with the bronzer, ready to use. It also keeps things tidy and neat and it's great for if I'm carrying this in my bag.
Under the sponge are the bronzing pearls, they are a golden, bronze colour. Basically they are little 'pearls' or balls of bronzer all contained in the pot to apply with the sponge. I think having the bronzer in pearls gives a more natural look because the sponge doesn't pick up as much colour.
I have used both the sponge and my own bronzer/blusher brush with this. I find that the sponge is good to apply this to my cheeks or anywhere else really, I usually fold the sponge a bit though as it is quite big. I think using a brush is better to more precise application and I've also used an eyeshadow brush to apply this to my eyelids which is also a nice look. I would call these bronzing pearls multi-purpose because it looks great on your face, eyes and body when you want to look more tanned. These aren't orange or too dark but even with a dark tan they do add a nice glow. This does have a shimmer to it which isn't for everyone, some non-shimmery light bronzers can be applied all over the face but I probably wouldn't do that with this because I wouldn't want a completely shimmery face.
I find these easy to apply and they have a very silky and smooth texture. I think that these add a nice, healthy glow to the skin and a bit of colour. They aren't orange or too unnatural looking but you can build the colour up for a darker or more dramatic look. I love how simple these are to use and they give a golden to bronze colour to the skin. I also like to use them as an eyeshadow and I think the colour really suits my dark eyes. It's also easy to blend and has quite good staying power, it doesn't wear off too quickly but it's easy to remove. It does tend to fade a bit throughout the day but not overly so.
I'd recommend these to someone who is looking for a new bronze which gives quite a natural look.
