I buy carrot oil to use on the last couple of days on my holiday. I would never use it to begin with thats asking for trouble but I use it to darken my skin when I already have a tan and just want that last kick before returning home. This bottle cost me £2 from my local bargain shop for 250ml with 18m life.
Carrot oil is designed to give a deep long lasting tan by intensifying the sun rays. It works by replacing natural oils which are lost when your skin is exposed to the sun. Carrot oil contains Vitamin A, E and carrot oil. It does not contain a sunscreen.
The bottle advises you to use sunscreen between 11am and 3pm so it is no way encouraging you to lie in the sun all day covered in it which is what my boyfriend does, there is no way I would get away with this though.
When you spray the carrot oil onto your skin it comes out as a quite think almost cooking oil style orange liquid. The liquid rubs into your skin easily and leaves a kind of film over your skin you can feel its there to touch it smells quite similar to other sun creams.
Carrot oil for me is something I will use for a few hours the last day of my holiday and it does work since I discovered it I have always come back with a darker tan which people have commented on. My boyfriend always comes back really dark but his skin is better at handling the sun than mine.
I recommend carrot oil but us it with care you know your own skin type and what kind of sun exposure you can take so follow the guidelines.
