      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Worth every penny!!

I consider myself to have annoying skin; it's dry in places, prone to spots in others, and can be oily in other places. I also have an uneven skin tone. So, finding face creams is usually a difficult task for me, as I want to moisturise the dry parts, but don't want to over-moisturise the oily parts, and don't want to use a cream that causes spots.

I bought this cream after seeing it advertised in a magazine; I have previously used two other 'expensive' Clinique creams, and have been impressed with them. So when I heard about this new cream, I just had to try it.

I bought the cream from Boots for a price of £30 which I do think is very expensive and I hate spending that kind of money on creams, however I was aware that the product would work and I considered it to be a product I 'needed' rather than just 'wanted'.
The aim of the product is to provide moisture to dry skin - not just like any 'dry skin' product though - this cream provides loads of moisture!

The cream is easy to use. Make sure you have a clean finger and face and apply a 5p sized amount of cream to your face and massage. You can put it on before or after (on top of your make-up) and it doesn't ruin your make-up. Although I always put it on after a bath or before bed. You can also use it as a 5 minute mask - put a little bit more on than normal and leave for 5 minutes - then dab away excess cream with a tissue.

I have quite sensitive skin - the kind which goes red and burns if it disagrees with a product or gives me spots. Yet this cream doesn't irritate my skin at all. In fact it leaves my skin lovely and soft, smooth and fresh looking and feeling.

I like how 'light' and 'comfortable' this cream is to 'wear'. I also love how quick it moisturises my skin - instantly and my skin looks great as soon as I put it on. The cream is absorbed very quickly meaning that you aren't left with a 'greasy face'. I sometimes get 'flaky skin' especially around my nose, and as soon as I put this on, it seems to 'melt into the flakes' and they are no longer visible and my skin is left feeling really smooth. That's another thing I love about this cream; it leaves your skin feeling really soft and smooth. My skin doesn't feel greasy or sticky afterwards.
I always feel confident after putting on this cream - so much that I feel I could leave the house without make-up - something I hardly ever do.

As for value for money I think that this product is great. Before, I would never have imagined spending such a ridiculous amount of money on a cream and would have considered it to be a waste of money. Although, having experienced first hand how great this product is and how well it works, I am very pleased with my purchase. The last Clinique pot ( a different product) I bought, was the same size as this pot, and I apply the same amount with this one as the last one; the last pot lasted me six months and so this pot should also last me six months. So when you think about it, £32 for six months (which works out at about £5 per month) is actually quite good value for money!

I like the packaging. The cream comes in an expensive looking little pot and is a pinky-brown colour with a 'silver metal lid'. I like the top of the lid as it has a 'kind of mirror' on the top. I don't know if it suppose to be a mirror, but I can see myself in the lid and so I use it to watch where I am putting the cream.

If you have a dry skin, then I would definitely recommend this cream.
      Thanks for reading!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

This is not a sunscreen but a skin treatment - when used as directed its very effective.

This product is under totally the wrong category so DO NOT BUY TO USE AS A SUNSCREEN!

However, DO BUY to even skin tone and reduce highly pigmented areas.

I received a free sample of this product when it just came out a few years ago. I was very excited as I had never come across a product specifically for uneven skin tone. I had a couple of fairly faint 'age spots' - not very noticeable to others but I was self conscious about them - and so I thought I would give it a go.

The product is a lovely white, unscented creamy texture and you need only apply a small amount to the problem area morning and evening - this meant my little free sample lasted over 2 months. It is absorbed very quickly into the skin so you can pop your makeup on straight away. I have always used it specifically on areas of uneven skin tone but it is design ed to be used all over the face. Once my free sample ran out I continued to buy the product and used it religiously for about 18 months. My age spots have faded away beautifully leaving me with even skin tone and not needing to use concealer. However, mine were quite light in the first place so I do not know how long it would take or how effective the product would be on areas of dark pigmentation. I can't promise miracles, but this is the only thing I have used before that has had an impact.

The product works by breaking down melanin that is trapped in the skin. Melanin is the pigment released by the skin to make it darker to protect itself from damage, obviously triggered by UVA and UVB rays. A tan is effectively your skin cells filling with Melanin - the darker the tan the more melanin. Different skin types produce different amounts of melanin, this is purely due to genetics. Then over time the melanin is broken down and reabsorbed by the skin and your tan fades. Age spots and uneven skin tone are patches of skin where the body has failed to breakdown and reabsorb the melanin. This product breaks down the melanin in the skin, gradually lightening the skin overtime. Therefore, the SPF in this product is to prevent the skin producing melanin - it would be silly to be trying to breakdown melanin to reduce uneven skin tone but still allow UVA/UVB rays to trigger melanin to be produced.

! However, this product is not designed to be a sunscreen primarily and should not be used as such !

Since I started using this product Clinique has also released a lotion version and a clinical grade serum specifically for dark spots that has received multiple awards. From what I have heard this is the best range for uneven skin tone on the market.
