As a girl with blond hair, blue eyes and very fair skin, it's pretty accurate to say that I don't tan well. I love to be out in the sunshine and I do always try to wear my factor 30 but sometimes you forget or you miss those all important parts such as the neck and shoulder and at the end of the day you end up looking a bit like a lobster.
This is where Coppertone comes to my rescue. Coppertone do an excellent range of suntan lotions and creams but I am actually going to review their after sun. The after sun comes in a moisturizing clear aloe vera gel. I love the fact that it is a gel because in my opinion it goes on red and burnt skin a lot better than a cream and I think cools the skin down a lot better than a cream does. It also soaks into the skin a lot quicker and is not sticky like other gels can be and in my experience provides relief a lot quicker than a cream.
The after sun gel is basically used after you have been out in the sun all day to rehydrate sun dried skin and helps to maintain your tan as well as prevent peeling and flaking. If I do have any hind of a tan I find if I do use this product my colour will last for quite a while after I get home.
The gel doesn't really have a smell which I think is nice because if you are putting it on in the evening after sun you don't really want to smell all medicated. The gel contains little beads of vitamins A and E that burst when you rub them onto your skin. As it says on the bottle these help to provide your skin with the extra moisture and essential nutrients it needs. I find this product really works. It does sooth my skin if I have burnt it but as an added bonus it makes my skin lovely and smooth and after a holiday it feels great.
Used in conjunction with Coppertone Sun lotion I would definitely recommend the after sun.
