      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A sunscreen that provides easy and effective cover.

      Growing up in hot Australia, Coppertone was my mother's brand of choice when it came to sunscreen. In those days, the maximum SPF available there was 16. You can therefore easily understand how I came to buy on impulse several bottles of this water resistant Coppertone SPF 30.

      We always have several bottles of sun block, and always at least two aerosol bottles on the go. Why so many? Well as previously mentioned my commute to work in East Anglia is from San Diego. There's a reason that San Diego is known as "sunny San Diego"! Wikipedia advises that San Diego has on average 146 sunny days and 117 partly cloudy days a year. The average daytime temperatures range from 14C in winter to 22C in summer, however there are many days where the thermometer reaches 30C and greater.

      It's therefore important to me that a sun block works. This sunscreen does just this. It's broad spectrum, water-resistant for over an hour and best of all it can be applied to wet skin.

      This sunscreen is very easy to apply as it comes in a bottle-shaped aerosol can that contains 180mls of liquid. A clear mist comes out of the bottle when the top is pressed. My husband always lightly rubs the solution into his skin on himself and our daughter, however I rarely do.......it can be quite difficult to get our three year old daughter to stand still for any length of time. We use it directly on our faces but not our daughters; for that we spray the solution onto our hands and apply from there.

      This Coppertone 30 works very well for us. None of us have ever been burned when wearing this sun block. We reapply it several times a day, more if we are in and out of the pool.

      Another highly recommended product! It's currently available for around £9.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Nice and easy to use

        This is a review of the Coppertone SPF 30 I bought recently as we were expecting a sunny bank holiday day (and beyond) and I knew a day would be spent in the garden splashing in the paddling pool. Armed with hats and sunscreen we would hopefully have a lovely day with no sunburn as a bad reminder afterwards.

        Description
        The bottle is a can with an aerosol top, holding 177ml of liquid that is disbursed through a pressurised spray. The liquid comes out in a clear mist which requires little rubbing in and dries almost instantly on the skin.

        The claim
        * Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB Protection
        * Water Resistant (Up To 80 Min)
        * Visibly Cuts Through Water
        * Sprays Clear On Wet Skin

        In use
        To use, the clear seal has to be torn off the cap and then the cap is twisted until you hear an audible click. You can then see the nozzle ready to spray. Pressing down on the nozzle, a fine mist comes out and arms and legs and even faces are quickly covered.

        My thoughts
        I usually use SPF 50 but mainly because it's what we have left over from being abroad in very hot places. After a few burning mistakes in my teens I take no risks now as the misery it produces is not worth the tan that lasts a few days. In addition to this the danger of skin cancer is enough to scare me, especially having young children I want to protect myself and them. This really is such a trouble free sun protectant, I like the clear sprays since I tried them in Mexico and opt for these when I see them. It can be hard to get kids to stay still for any amount of time so the spray suits their impatient nature perfectly. We have used this on ourselves as adults and on the children too.

        Performance
        This has worked perfectly, with no burning at all. I reapply it every couple of hours to be safe but it is also waterproof so works in and out of the paddling pool provided the sunscreen is given chance to dry on the skin (under a minute) before jumping in. We have also used this on faces without it causing any problems with the eye area although obviously it's best not to get it in your eyes.

        Price
        I can't believe what a bargain I got with this, in fact I should have bought more as it was on sale in the 99p shop and I knew the brand was a good make.

        Final word
        This is a versatile product and definitely one I'd be happy to take abroad on holiday. The high SPF provides great protection in the hot sun and it works well on wet skin too which is great when you have active children in the sun. I really rate this product and am thrilled to have discovered it. A definite repurchase.
