      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good reliable product that is easy to use

A child's skin is precious, and that is how it should remain. It is imperative to take care of a child's skin throughout the year to protect it from the elements, and allow it to stay in soft healthy condition. Children's skin is delicate and is susceptible to sun damage, which is why sunscreen should be applied throughout the summer months. Sunscreen should be applied even on overcast days throughout summer to provide protection.

      >> Silky soft baby skin

My beautiful little boy has silky soft skin, and that is how I want it to remain. I use as little products on his skin as possible; however, when the warm sunny weather makes an appearance, I waste no time finding a suitable sunscreen to protect his precious skin from the sun's rays. There are many different sunscreens on the market that are designed for children, many of which come in different formats.

      >> Fun in the sun

We have been lucky this year to have had some glorious sunny days. I like to make the most of the good weather, and spend as much time outdoors as possible exploring and having fun whilst the sun is shining. Whilst we was on a day out the weather was better than expected, which prompted me to go in search for a sunscreen product for my son's delicate skin. I wanted a product that would be easy to apply to a wriggly giggly toddler.

      >> Finding the right sunscreen

Looking around at the various different sunscreen products on the shelves in Boots, I decided that the Garnier Ambre Solaire Kids Sun Protection Stick would be ideal. I thought the small 20g size was perfect for transporting about, and the stick format would be far easier to apply that other formats that are available. The sun protection stick may be small; however, it has a very high factor of SPF 50, which will give reassuring protection from the sun.

      >> All wrapped up

The product is packaged in a plastic cover with a card backing that presents all the necessary product information. The additional packaging keeps the product hygienic, preventing it from being tested in store. The 20mg stick is similar in design to that of a glue stick, only the tube is wider. The handy size makes it ideal to slip into a pocket or bag to be able to reapply on-the-go. The practical size means that it can be kept on ones person, which gives peace of mind and the ability to be able to keep the skin protected throughout the course of a day.

      >> Covering all bases

The sturdy stick features a screw cap, which makes it hard for youngsters to open. Removing the lid reveals a creamy white stick that can be elevated by the twistable base. It only needs to be twisted slightly, as the stick is a generous size. This inventive format provides a fuss free, efficient, and practical way to apply sunscreen to a youngster. The stick format allows all of the delicate areas that are exposed such as the nose, tips of ears, and cheeks to be covered with ease. These delicate areas can be painful if burnt, and usually they can be fiddly to protect with sun block. However, the sun protection stick simply glides over these areas with ease.

      >> She's giving me stick

I use the sun protection stick every time we go out to protect my suns skin. I find the stick format is easy to use on an active toddler. The sun stick is easy to use on my son's face, ears, neck, hands and other exposed areas of skin. It glides over the skin with ease, and feels nice on application. My son happily allows me to cover all areas that need protection without any fuss. In fact, he always seems happy about it, as he sits there smiling. The texture is rich and creamy, and it feels soft on contact. There is no need to rub the cream in, just simply glide the stick over delicate and exposed areas for protection.

      >> It's all white

The product goes on white that is fairly faint, but this allows you to see where has been covered. It soon absorbs into the skin leaving no sticky residue behind. It has a very delicate scent that isn't apparent, which is preferable with little noses. It doesn't mark or stain clothing, though it is best to avoid getting it on clothes, just in case. It is simple to use, and certainly favored over other formats for ease of application, so no mess is created. It is impossible to use too much, as it applies directly onto the skin with even coverage.

      >> No sticking around

It literally takes seconds to cover my son's skin, and I have peace of mind knowing that all the delicate areas are protected. The compact stick can easily be slipped into a pocket to be able to reapply when required. Over the time that I have been using the sun protecting stick we have had some scorching days where we have been out in open areas for prolonged periods of time. My son hasn't suffered any sunburn whatsoever, so the product gives full protection. I don't need to worry if his ears are not always covered by a hat, as they are protected from the sun with sunscreen, so he can happily play without being fussed.

      >> Caring even for grown ups

My partner and I also use this stick on our clean skin, and it is quick and easy to get covered. It is far easier to apply, as the stick is simply smoothed over the skin, and the creamy texture stays put. Sun block in other formats can often be messy, and time consuming, and areas are often missed. We have been able to cover all areas easily, and remain protected from the sun. This allows us to enjoy more time outdoors, and not have to suffer any consequences. I find it far easier to apply that other formats I have used in the past. The stick makes it incredibly simple to apply, and the thick texture stays where it is applied.

      >> The stick that goes on and on

Though the stick looks small, it will last for a long time. I have found that our stick has barely been dented, despite being liberally used by the three of us. As it is rich it only needs to be glided over the skin once. The texture allows it to be liberally applied without any waste, which makes it last for a considerable amount of time. It absorbs quickly, so there is no time waiting around for it to dry.

      >> Small but powerful

The high factor SPF 50 gives the protection that children need. It offers UVA and UVB protection. It is also water resistant, though it should still be reapplied after water activities to ensure full protection. The sun protection stick is hypoallergenic and perfume-free, so it is kind and gentle on delicate skin. It has a 12 month shelf life, and it will easily last an entire summer, even with frequent application.

      >> Staying safe in the sun

This is a fuss free product that is easy to use, and it covers delicate areas that also need to be protected from the sun's rays. Sunscreen is a vital product to keep children safe whilst outdoors during summer months. This handy stick makes it easy to take out and about to be able to use on-the-go. The compact size is also ideal for packing into the suitcase for holidays, too.

Quick and easy to apply sun protecting stick that can be applied even to the wriggliest of children.
