Garnier Ambre Solaire Moisturising Protection Spray SPF 20
Advantages: Spray is easy to use, protects my pale skin
I find it quite ironic that I'm writing this review tonight as I'm watching the snow fall outside my window. It is so cold so just the thought of my upcoming holiday and some sunshine makes me smile! One of my essential items when I go out in the sum be it in this country or abroad is sunscreen lotion. I am blond haired and fair skin and so I burn quite easily and so I do need quite a lot of protection when I go out in the sun. However, I recommend even if you are quite dark that you also think about sunscreen too as this helps to protect you from cancer and not just getting burnt by the sun.
My favourite sunscreen lotion is Ambre Solaire and I have used it for quite a few years now. I have tried various ones over the years and this definitely works well on my skin for a number of reason.
According to the information, "Ambre Solaire Moisturising Protection Spray SPF 20 is the perfect balance of moisturising care and protection with advanced UVA and UVB photostable filters. This non sticky, non greasy formula is quick and easy-to-use, and instantly absorbed by the skin and leaves no white marks. Ambre Solaire Moisturising Protection Milk contains Mexoryl to protect the skin against UVA and UVB rays that cause sun induced skin damage and premature ageing. It also contain a hydrating complex, cactus nutriflavones and pure vitamin E, to defend the skin by hydrating it and maintaining the moisture levels during sun exposure."
What I like about this lotion is that it actually comes in a manual spray form. All you need to do to apply it is just spray it on and then rub in. I find this really easy to apply, especially in parts that are hard to reach such as my back. If I don't have a nice hunk next to me on the sunlounger to rub it on, he he, I can just spray it on my back and leave it there.
The lotion is quite thin which I like as it's not as thick as some other sunscreen lotions. I think its definitely a true statement when they say that this is a non sticky, non greasy formula. The cream just smoothes on and soaks in well and after I have applied it I feel really protected from the sun. The directions for use are given on the back of the bottle which is handy if you have never used it before. They say to "Apply 15 minutes before going into the sun, reapply when in the sun and then every 1-2 hours and always after swimming or towelling."
I love the smell of this spray too. It has that lovely holiday smell, the one that makes you think you are on the beach when you apply it even if you've gone to the local park on a sunny day. It's not off putting or anything like that, I actually like the smell and it washes off once you have a shower and decide to take the lotion off. Of course, sunscreen is quite expensive, a 200ml bottle costs £13.49 but that usually gets me through half a summer and holidays and it's one sun item I cannot do without.
