      A must have for summer!

I bought this at the airport in Greece after a fortnight there. (PS: do not underestimate the sun in Greece). Despite my efforts with a SPF 50+ sunscreen, the repeated dips in the gorgeous beaches there left my shoulder blades, chest and even ears, red and properly sunkissed. Though the skin in those areas were not quite yet burned to peeling, they felt hot and itchy.

I had never heard of Korres prior to arriving to Greece but my friend had and informed me that they were known for their natural ingredients and were selling quite well in the London stores. Therefore I decided there was no better time to try Korres' products than when I'm overly sunkissed and in Greece. I paid around 15 euros for this product at the duty free store - slightly expensive but I thought worth it if it did solve my problems and especially since it was appropriate for both face and body.

A huge plus was the fact that it could be used for face and body. After Greece, I was headed for Turkey and potentially greater sun damage that may expand to my face (which unfortunately, did happen :( ) and I was glad to not have to buy both a bottle for my body and one, in case, for my face. My facial skin is sensitive and prone to breakouts so I was also excited to see that the ingredients in the product didn't contain those ingredients most hurtful to my skin. The information on the product was shown very clearly, even in English. The product is packed with natural products. Yogurt, glycerin and panthenol helped to soothe the skin whilst the other products such as almond and soybean nourished the skin. This meant that this can be used as a general body lotion. The scent was also a great plus. The yogurt inside the product smelt terrific.

Finally and most importantly, the product worked! I've not tried many other similar products, but of those that I've tried, I find this to be the most effective one. The cooling effect helps to ease the itchiness and this cooling effect is heightened if you kept it in the fridge (which should be easy on holiday since most accommodation provides a mini bar). After application, the gel dries quite fast so it doesn't feel sticky for a long time as can often be the case with moisturising products. The skin felt soothed and moisturized after, meaning that the gel properly sunk into the skin quickly. I applied the gel about 2-3 times a day (once in the morning, once before I slept and once in the afternoon if I remembered). I would not say I lathered a thick layer each time either. With this level of application, the itchiness completely went away for a good number of hours (which was fine given the number of times I applied it for). The red-ness was not immediately cured and honestly, I didn't expect to. I doubt anything short of a true miracle product could do that. Nonetheless, this products' effects are great. The redness went away in a couple of days.

Overall, a wonderful product. There's only one snag - I found that the bottle kept leaking from the bottle. A real nuisance since I was traveling with it. However, it is likely that I just got the rare defect bottle but heads up!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      essential for sunburnt skin

Korres is a Greek beauty brand which offers natural skin care, body and suncare products.

      ~Yoghurt Cooling Gel~

This cooling gel is part of the Korres suncare range and is marketed as being an aftersun type product. This gel is made with real yoghurt which helps increase the water content when applied to skin. This gel is designed to cool and soothe skin which has been irritated by the sun. It contains 'Epilobium Angustifolium' and 'Fennel extracts' which have anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is suitable for use on the face and the body.

This cooling gel also boasts some natural benefits for skin :

*Dermatologically tested (suitable for those with sensitive skin)
      *Sillicone free
*Non - comedogenic (doesn't clog pores)
      *Free from mineral oils
      *Free from parabens

Packaging wise, this gel is presented in a slim, cylinder shaped tube with a pump dispenser for ease of use. The packaging isn't visually appealing but does the job. It can be kept in the fridge.

Ingredients - Yogurt (full fat), Epilobium angustifolium extract (Willowherb), Fennel extract, provitamin B5, Calendula oil, Sweet Almond oil.

      ~Price and Availability~

Yoghurt Cooling Gel can be purchased direct from the Korres website www.korres.com. It is priced at 22.00 euros for a 150ml size. It can also be bought within the UK from the following websites.

      *www.bathandunwind.com - £16.00
      *www.lookfantastic.com - £12.80
      *Amazon - £15.00

Korres also offer other yoghurt based creams including day and night creams.

      ~My Thoughts~

Korres isn't a brand I knew much about until recently but I am glad I found out about them as they aren't too expensive and the quality of the products is really good. I have been trying out several of their products recently and one which I have found very beneficial is the Yoghurt Cooling Gel. It is more expensive than a Boots aftersun for example, but is packed full of natural, skin benefiting ingredients so I feel it is fairly priced.

The weather in Scotland can be deceiving as one minute it will be raining and the next the sun is scorching the trees. I always carry sun lotion for my young son but when it comes to carrying any for my own skin, I am not always as prepared. Because my skin is sensitive, I seem to burn a lot quicker than most people and most recently I suffered from a nasty bout of sunburn on my arms, chest and face. I didn't think it actually was THAT hot hence why I wasn't more careful (slaps wrist). Thankfully, Korres was to the rescue!

      ~Muller or Korres?~

I suppose many could argue that you could slather sunburn in natural yoghurt from Asda but I didn't fancy competing with the drippy mess. This cooling gel is an absolute delight to use and much more appealing than a regular aftersun in my opinion. It is white and has a thick, creamy texture which is very lightweight. It is so lightweight that when applied to skin, it reminds me of a serum mixed with some lotion. It spreads effortlessly across skin without dragging and only a small blob is required to sufficiently coat my skin.

Putting this gel in the fridge before using is definitely worth it in my opinion. The gel feels incredibly cool and instantly soothing when applied to warm, sore skin. This soothing lasts well and when I had the sunburn, I only needed to apply a thin layer 2-3 times a day to keep my skin cool. The gel is incredibly gentle on the skin thanks to the natural ingredients. It takes a short while of gentle massaging to encourage the gel to fully absorb and leaves no sticky residue behind so is perfect for using before going to bed or before dressing. I often struggle to find suitable products for my skin and body but this is definitely a multi-use product. It is light on my face and doesn't feel greasy. It moisturises too and is perfect for sun burnt cheeks and noses!

I was very pleased with how well this gel soothed my skin. My skin felt smooth and soft each time I used this gel and it prevented my skin from drying up and peeling - very moisturising and hydrating. The scent of the gel is appealing to me. It has a lovely rich, creamy sweet aroma with a delicate nutty aroma. It is quite relaxing and whilst my skin benefited from the soothing properities, I benefited from the calming aroma at bed time. The scent lasts well on my skin.

      ~Conclusion~

My skin has been thankful for this cooling gel as it has performed to a high standard and has made my skin generally more comfortable. This product would be perfect for using abroad when the sun is too strong as sometimes no matter how much sun cream is applied, we still end up reddish skin. It is quite intensive and can cope with slightly red skin as well as really bad sun burn.

I can highly recommend this wonderful product. It is natural and very effective if a little pricey. It lasts well though.

      Thanks for reading :)
