After becoming a fan of the tan optimizer range by Lancaster, I have slowly branched out over the last few years and bought different products by the brand. I was at first put off by the heavy price tag, but have as I've got older realised that often the more expensive brands are gentler on my problem skin, with cheaper brands causing flare ups of my rosacea. I found that suncare products were often the worst offenders, so after using another product by Lancaster and not suffering a flare up, I solely use Lancaster for my suncare products.

More often than not, I tend to go for factors upwards of 20, but with two holidays quite close together earlier on in the year, I decided to try and give my face a bit of a base for the summer, by allowing it to be more exposed to the sun than I would usually allow. With a 5 day break to the States, I figured it would be exposed for a short amount of time that would allow my skin to catch the sun a little and so I opted for a factor 8, the lowest I have ever used on myself!

This particular product from Lancaster is, as the title would suggest, for the face. You aren't going to turn into an alien if you were to use the product elsewhere, but it would be a waste of the product, and can be used alongside another factor for the body. I use this factor 8 for the face, but use an SPF 20 / 30 for my body.

The cream applies lovely and doesn't clog the skin or feel heavy once applied like some sun creams can do. The scent is subtle, yet refreshing and the skin is soft to touch once applied, despite it being exposed to the sun. It absorbs quickly but at the same time offers protection for longer than my previous suncare products, meaning it will last longer too.

At £20, its not the cheapest suncare product out there, but a little goes a long way, and I wold definately recommend this product.

If budget allows, treat yourself to the Lancaster Tan Preparer Hydrating Serum, which boosts melanin production in the skin, accelerating the tanning process and giving an even and glowing complexion. Amazing product!
