Nivea Cooling After Sun Spray
Advantages: Easy to apply even by myself, good price, works well, soothes and moisturises.
Last year I went to Majorca with my husband and just before we set off on our holiday I ended up with a large amount of sunburn on my shoulders and on my face too. Because of this when we set off on our holiday I wanted to have some after sun as well as sun protection just to ensure that I was taking care of my skin as best I could. It was my husband that picked up this Nivea cooling after sun spray and I believe he did so just because it was half price, costing around £5.00 instead of around £10.00.
The sunburn that I incurred was not something that happens to me regularly and it was just because we had a fantastic day in the sun with our family and friends and so before we knew it the night had drawn in and my shoulders and face were beginning to burn, along with those of several other people from our party too!
The packaging for this spray is very simple. It is a bottle with little waves in it and a large plastic cap. This is a good bottle to hold and whatever angle I try to spray myself from it still works very well and allows me to hit those difficult to reach places such as the back of my shoulders or the lower part of my back. The spray of this bottle is easy to use and pressing it down doesn't require a huge amount of thumb power. I've never had any problems with this opening and even one year after purchase, when I finally finished this, the spray still worked well and not once did I have to clean the nozzle.
Obviously this is simple to use and the concept is simple too. After sun is for use after you have been in the sun and if you are forgetful enough to get burned then after sun can be used to provide relief from some of the burning or stinging pain associated with sun burn. Just spray on and lightly rub in to affected areas to start feeling the relief immediately.
This after sun is one that I have really enjoyed using. The added aloe vera has a lovely scent to it and it makes me feel relaxed and refreshed as soon as I start to spray it. The scent lasts a good hour or maybe two before it fades completely and often I've reapplied by this point just to keep up the coolness and refreshing feeling I get after using this spray. This spray leaves my skin feeling moisturised after use and for a day or two afterwards too and the spray has a lovely cooling effect when it hits my skin too. Once this soaks in to my skin, with the help of an occasional rub it does absorb quickly and it doesn't leave a nasty greasy film on my skin at all.
Because I don't use this on a daily basis this has lasted me for a whole year, basically, and I've been very pleased with this. I would firmly recommend this after sun as it has done wonders for my sometimes almost chargrilled skin and has meant that I can get some relief from the burning pain of sunburn and because of the spray bottle I can even apply this myself and leave it for a few minutes to soak in naturally before putting a loose layer of clothing back over the affected areas.
Should you be looking for a new after sun lotion you can find this reduced from £9.00 down to £4.50 at present in Sainsburys stores and on the Sainsburys website.
Summary: A fantastic after sun product from Nivea.
