Advantages: EVERYTHING! smells great and soothes skin instantly!
Disadvantages: NONE!!
So a few weeks ago I did a terrible thing, I went to the beach and forgot to put on suncream :/ my shoulders were red and painful for days. At the time I was using a Tescos own after sun cream which I found didn't have any calming and soothing effect on my skin whatsoever and dried out within 10minutes. I complained about this to my mum and the next day she came home with a bottle of this Nivea. The bottle I own is a different shape to the picture above and looks a lot better, I know from many adverts and magazines that Nivea is a trusty skincare brand and must have been quite cheap if my mum was buying it (she always looks for the best bargains!).
So anyway I put this on and instantly felt it calming my skin, it felt moisturising and it I could see it sinking into my skin really nicely, unlike my tesco one which just sat on top of skin making me greasy and sticky and kept the heat in! You also don't need to apply it too often as it keeps you moisturised for a long time and makes the skin feel really soft.
When the red faded I was left with a few days of ugly sore peeling (I as really grossed out by this as I've never sunburnt myself enough to peel) and used this after sun on it as it still had a cooling moisturising effect and no one actually noticed I was peeling because it kept my skin so well moisturised and again I didn't have to apply it too often and it seemed to help my tan stay. The smell was lovely too, which is the aloe vera and felt very calming to put on my skin and wasn't overpowering at all.
This is one of the best skincare things I own now and is definitely a necessity, especially for us England people who never know when we're gonna get caught out by the sun showing its face and burning us! I think the bottle was only about £5 and I often see the Nivea suncare stuff on offer and it's defiantely one of the more cheaper suncare ranges out there.
Also I keep my after sun in the fridge so it's extra cool when putting on sunburn... does anyone else do this???
Summary: So worth the extra bit of money, an essential!
